I stumbled back before Keith could grab my head.
"Whoah, Keith!" Shiro cried, standing between me and the red paladin.
"She could be contacting the Galra! That's how they got here so quickly!" He exclaimed, taking out his sword.
Shiro shifted. He didn't have an argument, and neither did the other paladin's nor the two Altean's.
I let out a hiss and stomped my foot.
"Throwing a tantrum isn't going to help." Nunarae said miserably.
I let out a small bark, and she fell silent.
I suddenly felt something grab one of my horns, and my head was dragged down towards the side. I wailed in surprise, and clawed at the thing grabbing me. It was luckily just a robot.
"Let's ask (Y/n), then." Pidge said. Tension was laced in the air. "(Y/n), are you contacting the Galra?"
I gave them a look, then shook my head.
"Pidge, how do you think–" Keith began.
"Turn back into a human." Pidge said.
I understood what was happening almost immediately. Pidge was asking me to go into my weaker form, so I could show that they could trust me. But how could I trust them? I could get over powered in a snap.
"You don't have a choice." Nunarae's voice sounded strained. "I think you should."
I pondered for a moment, then looked down, turning back human. I stood ready just in case something happened.
"(Y/n), is someone talking to you through that ear piece?" Shiro asked, still between Keith and I.
I nodded, shuffling my feet nervously.
"You see!?" Keith said.
"Wait, we don't know who is talking, though." Lance pointed out. The red and blue paladin's exchanged a glare.
"Who is it, then?" Keith said. Shiro finally moved away.
"It's.... hard to explain." I folded and unfolded my hands.
"Explain, then. In point form." Pidge suggested.
I stood there for a moment, waiting for the goddess's say. She remained silent.
I grumbled. "Thanks, Nunarae. Leave it to me to explain everything, yeah?"
"No problem." She muttered.
"You see? She's talking to them right now!" Keith cried, taking a step forwards.
"She's a goddess." I said quickly, putting my hands up.
"A... what?" He stopped. Everyone looked at me.
"Scratch that. More like a spirit in ways." I tilted my head slightly. "She is possessing an ear piece so she could guide me, I suppose. That's why I fight like the way I do."
They all seemed to come to a quiet understanding, and I relaxed.
"Tell them I say hi." Nunarae sounded suddenly eager.
"She says hi." I grinned. "She's good with history lessons. I mean, for over five thousand years, she's got to be."
"Screw you." She barked. I flinched.
"Volume." I muttered.
"Um... What's she the goddess of exactly...?" Hunk asked.
"The... afterlife." I blinked. "She can't kill, though. She only takes."
They all seemed to pale none the less.
"You're scaring them." She pointed out.
"Thank you, captain obvious, for your almighty wisdom." I hissed.
"So... nothing else can contact you except that goddess?" Keith asked, seeming to relax slightly.
"And other gods, sometimes. But really, Nunarae is all." I waved my hands a little.
He nodded, and the tension broke.
"Now, how about reprogramming that tracker, yeah?" I clapped my hands together.
