The night air was cool and crisp, a pleasant contrast from the dry, hot daytime.

Lucy, Blitz, Eason and Greyson argued with each other on my back, or commented on the large metallic lions that flew after us. I let out a soft huff as I glided along, feeling exhausted.

The burns, scrapes, cuts and stings were prominent on my body, and would most likely be criticized on later by the Paladins. I yawned, showing my large, pure white fangs.

"How's (Y/n)?" Hunk asked.

Every few minutes, one of the Paladins asked about me.

"Alive." Nunarae muttered. She was clearly drained, having guided me through most of the fights.

"That's helpful knowledge." Pidge commented.

"Well, it's better then being dead." Nunarae yawned. I made a small growling sound in the back of my throat.

"She's bleeding." I heard Lance observe, and I hissed in annoyance.

"(Y/n), you keep pulling faces. Is everything okay?" Lucy asked, patting my neck, which felt quite odd, I must say.

I nodded, and banked downwards. The small city came into view, lit up brilliantly. My home on Echao wasn't as flashy. Just a small village. But I enjoyed this sight nonetheless.

I swooped down, and landed in the city's centre, just like before. I saw that most of the ash was cleaned up, the the debris from the smoking buildings were pushed to the side.

I waited there with my friends until the Paladins showed up. I let out a loud sigh, and collapsed to the ground dramatically.

"Oh no! (Y/n), are you okay?" Hunk exclaimed, as they ran up to me. My friends broke into a fit of giggles.

I flicked my tongue out, and sat up, shaking the dust away. My wounds stung, and I saw that I had several bruises too. Many of my (f/c) scales were dented. I let out a growlish groan.

"She's too hurt to turn human. She's going to stay like this for now." Nunarae explained.

The Paladins gave me glares, and looks that told me that we were going to talk about this later, but I didn't honestly care.

I turned to my friends, and I felt my chest squeeze. I knew now that we were leaving. They seemed to know it too.

"It was great to see you again." Lucy tried, but her voice wavered.

I nodded, and it seemed like they all gave up the idea of being tough, and hugged me to the best of their ability.

When they pulled away, I scratched a message to them in the dirt, as I couldn't speak in dragon form.

Please send a message to my family on Echao that I'm okay.

Greyson shook his head. "All ways of contact are down. The Galra sabotaged it."

I let out a loud groan, and stomped my foot. My friends laughed.

"We'll miss you, (Y/n)." Blitz said. I nodded.

Lucy stomped right up to the Paladins. "You'd better take care of her, hear me!?" She snapped.

Lance smirked. "Loud and clear."

"Make sure she doesn't die, or I will find you and I will kill you." She announced, and I rolled my eyes.

I gave her a final nudge, before spreading my aching wings, and taking off, flying towards the palace.

(Time skip brought to you by an alive and well Shiro in season two~)

I stumbled as I landed, and hissed. My legs were numb as was the rest of my body. Also in pain. Lots of pain. Did I mention pain? Pain.

Ouch.

I saw the Paladins fly in, and after a few minutes, stumble out to come and get me.

"Can she transform?" Shiro asked, eyeing the injuries.

"Nope." Nunarae said. "Healing room."

Noooooooooooooooo. No.

They helped me down the halls, to the best of their ability, until Coran and Allura came out and magicked up a giant stretcher for me. How did they do it? Aliens.

"Such an idiot. You're such an idiot. You should've let someone go with you." Keith kept droning, while Hunk bit his nails, Pidge examined my cuts with Coran, Lance stroked my tail, and Shiro kept making sure my eyes stayed open with the help of Allura.

Okay, maybe I'd been a little rough with myself. I didn't care, though. My friends were safe, and that's all that mattered.

After what felt like hours, we were in the healing room.

"Okay, (Y/n), this is what we're going to do," Nunarae said. "You're going to transform back on three, and they'll have you in a pod. Ready?"

I internally nodded. Reluctantly. I hated this place to the extent of unholiness.

"One,"

They unstrapped me, and I slid to the floor.

"Two,"

Shiro took the place where I'd approximately appear as a human, which was my neck.

"Three."

And then I died. The end.
