*Astrid's POV*

I rush down the long white painted hallway searching for room 246. I'm trying to prepare myself ad much as possible for what I'm going to see in that room. A nurse who looks like a dumb teletuby in her work outfit tells me not to run in the hallways but I ignore her completely. I need to get there, now. Room 238, only a few to go. I keep running and suddenly stop when I find an open door that leads me to room 246.

I walk in, not as secure as before, I find Jake sitting on a chair staring put of the window.

Wow, what happened here? There are broken bloom pots on the floor and the dirt everywhere. The flowers are totally ruined laying across the room. It looks like a bomb exploded in here. The pillows are also on the floor, a sign that someone, probably Jake, thought he could work his frustrations out on the walls and furniture.

On the ugly floor, in the corner of the room, sits a little kid. Matt. He's drawing big, black drawings on the white walls. That's his way to get through hard situations, his way to calm down and get some peace. I just stare at it without saying anything. I walk over to Matt and sit down next to him, looking at what he's drawing. The kid doesn't even blink or give me a look. The wall is much more interesting than my face, I agree.

After some time and drawings a nurse walks in, she's young and when I look at her face not friendly at all. Her eyes scan the room before looking from Jake to me.

"You are going to clean this up!" She says on a harsh tone, staring straight into my eyes. "Are you mental? This is a hospital, not a kindergarten. I want the walls plain white and the floor clean when I come back in ten minutes." She goes on.

"Are you not even a bit understanding!? Their mother died about ten minutes ago, this kid is three years old and the only thing you do is screaming at him for letting out his feelings?!" I yell to her.

Sorry, I'm not sorry.

"Excuse me? I'm only doing my job." She defends herself, she puts her arms on her hips to look more angry. But she doesn't have any intact on me at all, that just makes me keep going. "I don't think so, your job is being a nice and friendly nurse. Not being the most hateful and not understanding, bloodsucking bitch." Jake turns his head and looks at me and strikes his tights

She looks at me with those eyes of hers. I don't regret any word I said, her looking at me even makes me feel sort of good.

The 'lady' turns around and start heading away. She's going to get another nurse I think, she can't handle the situation. Tssss.

I walk over to Jake and kiss his cheek, his eyes are red of crying. My hands run through his messy hair and I hug him tight. At first he doesn't hug back but later I feel his arms tighten around my waist.

"What am I supposed to do?" He says into my hair.

"Just keep doing what you did, you were doing a great job."

"But what about school and stuff? I wont be able to live a normal life."

"I can help you? And that aunt. And what about your father."

"He doesn't even know she died, he didn't pick up the phone. And that aunt isn't a good parent either."

I sigh and lay my head against his.

"I'll always be there for you, you can trust me." Those first words are true but the last ones give me a painful ache in the chest.

"Thanks." He attempts to smile but fails miserably.

"I think it's better when we go home." I say while looking to Matt who's hitting the wall now.

I stand up and pull Jake from his chair, walk over to Matt and take him into my arms to lift him up, ignoring his screams.
