It's been exactly one month ever since that 'incident' in the nurse's room.
You're probably wondering what happened between me and Devon, right? Well, let me tell you.
We fell in love kissing for another hour or so then rode off into the sunset with our unicorn and my fairy godmother...
*Sigh* I wish that would've happened but sadly it didn't. And I don't think it ever will. Not just because unicorns and fairy godmothers don't exist but because this is what really happened...
~ ~ ~ Flashback ~ ~ ~
Our lips start to pull apart and immediately I start to feel cold. Like the blanket that covered us was blown away. Now were left alone, only our breaths audible in the silence. But it was a good, comforting silence.
Suddenly it vanished as we hear a creak at the door. Devon quickly steps away but me, oh not me. No matter what I can't get rid of the tremendous blush stamped across my face. I glance at him before at the door and once again the way he maintains composed always amazes, until a look of awe takes it's place.
"Eliza?"
I whip my head toward the entrance and it is non-other than Eliza. The feeling I got when I saw her horrified face was enough to sink the Titanic all over again.
His voice deepens indicating his seriousness. "What are you doing here?"
"T-to get an ice pack." She stutters. "What are the two of you doing here?"
"W-well, I sprained m-my ankle. D-Devon helped me."
"Great." I think sarcastically. Now I'm stuttering.
She cocks her head to the side examining me curiously before a wicked grin spreads across her face.
"So, what have you two have been doing in here?" I shoot Devon a look of panic but his poker face remains, not his eyes though. He winks for a second, so fast I almost couldn't tell the difference between his wink and if he just blinked. "I like the 'bed hair' your sporting Avery and not to mention that tomato face." She giggles.
"I guess you didn't tell her, did you Devon?"
"Tell me what?"
"Eliza." Devon warns.
She snickers which makes me just want to reach up and choke her. "Devon and I never broke up sweet cheeks. He's just using you. Your just his little toy while I was away. Do you really think he'd date someone like you." She speaks with venom in her voice. I practically hear my heart shatter into pieces while she's talking and the worst part is she's not finished. "Let alone love you. A little sad, lonely and depressed girl."
"Eliza!" He hisses mimicking the hate and poison in her voice. "Avery, that's not true."
That really hurt. I thought I'd be used to it by now. I guess not yet. I lay my head down not wanting to give her the satisfaction of seeing me cry.
"I still don't understand why he didn't just let you jump from that roof that night. Oh wait! I do know why actually."
My head involuntarily darts up as I give her the best death glare I could muster.
By this time Devon is walking up to her with clenched fists, grabbing her hand and giving her an expression that say 'not another word or else...'
"Eliza you said you wouldn't tell."
"No, I'd love to hear the reason." My voice cracks.
"You hear that Devon?" She pulls her wrist from his grip continuing where she left off.
"Avery, please you don't want to hear this." His eyes begging me.
"Your mom paid him to."
Bang!
That was like a shot right in the heart, that is if it didn't already fall apart by now. My eyes were overloaded with tears as I glimpse at Devon. His entire face is blurred... just like my feelings for him.
