Time For Change?

Cocky Jerk

The air is cold but our lips say otherwise.  My breathing is so uneven a person with asthma would even think it's weird and I wouldn't blame them. These are the side effects of...

"Remember. Remember. Remember." Devon breathes harshly, his voice getting louder and louder every time he repeats. I whimper softly against his burning lips. The more I kiss them the more I yearn for them. I need to have self control.

I push him away with all my might but all it manages to do is separate our lips.

I pant trying to steady my heart rate. "I-I'm confused... a lot." 

He doesn't respond, just looks at me.

"Your mind is confused... Your body however knows exactly what it wants." I can't see his face clearly with the way we are facing the moon but I know that he is smiling.

Slight annoyance hits me and I have the sudden urge to show him up.

"Have you been studying in science? Because your mind controls your body." I scoff, flushing a rose color.

"Then, how do you explain what happened earlier, cupcake?" Cockiness in his voice. His hand holding my waist makes goosebumps rise on my skin. Not that the freaking coldness of the air wasn't enough.

When did he become so annoying? And what's with the cupcake thing?

I puff out my cheeks not being able to think of a good come back. I suck at these things.

He reclines towards my face, pivoting his head so I can see his eyebrow raised. Showing he is the victor. I narrow my eyes at him probably looking like a kindergartner who didn't get her candy.

"Don't worry there's still plenty of sweets for you." He smirks.

"Seriously, when did you get so cocky? Have you been hanging around Bret or something?"

He frowns instantly at the mention of Bret's name.

"Is that why you're confused? Because of him." Scorning when he said 'him'.

"You should at least get to know him. He's actually really sweet and protective." I defend him making Devon even angrier and now wishing I hadn't said that.

He sighs loudly. "He's not the right guy for you Avery."

"And how would you know that?" I retort.

"Because I am."

Guess every guy has a little bit of a cocky side even Devon. Honestly,  I think it's kinds hot but maybe it's just me ;) Hope you liked it and I am so freaking happy!!

I just got a new laptop as an early birthday present and it makes writing so much easier and fun!! Thanks so much for reading I love you guys <3 <3
