Ch 69: Naruto vs Gaara: battle of the jinchuuriki's

"aaawww god damnit! why you?! i wanted a free shot to the top!now i'll have to actually try!" Naruto complained to Gaara dramatically.

"serves you right for becoming so lazy and childish" Gaara quiped.

"and just what is that supposed to mean?" Naruto questioned.

"right now it seems like Sasuke is more of a hokage than you are" Gaara stated.

naruto gaped his jaw dropping. Naruto's eyes bulged. He couldn't believe Gaara had just said that to him. Him of all people!

"So get down there and prove to me that you've got what it takes to be the seventh Hokage" Gaara smirked disappearing in a swirl of sand.

"i refuse to be Hokage" Sasuke stated with a blink.

"Gaara was baiting him. Everyone knows you used to give Naruto a mini scroll when you did your mission reports" Shikamaru responded with an eyeroll.

"It was efficient. Besides Naruto falls asleep reading those things"Sasuke responded with an eye roll.

"Kick his ass Naruto!" Sakura screamed.

"Naruto better fucking win this" Sasuke said as he glared down into the arena when the blonde and red hea stood.

"Sasuke your worse than your brother" Lily sais putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm not worried i'm just saying my chakra's been building up since we got back to the past and with all of the danzo and orochimaru bull shit going on we haven't gotten a chance to use our full power. We keep having to hold back and it's starting to piss me off"

"Well you just have to wait a bit longer. If worse comes to worse you just have to kick Gaara's ass again"

"That kage level fight was pretty fun. Especially when me and the idiot were the last two standing" Sasuke grinned thinking of his past back when they were adults. The battle had been a charity event for something. Sasuke hadn't cared what. The point was he got dragged into the whole thing by Naruto. The blonde had constantly and i mean constantly chattered about how Sasuke was as strong as him so that makes him eligible to participate as well. The battle raked in a lot of cash and it had been good for him to let go and go full power back then. With the villages isolation and councils constant disaproval Sasuke had needed to let off some steam before he snapped. Sort of like right now. Sasuke knew that he had no reason to be pissed at anything besides orochimaru, danzo, shiniko, raiyna, the usual villains. But his left eye was beginning to ache and Sasuke felt they all were missing something. However the Uchiha wasn't sure what it was. He just knew it was bad.

"Are you ready kiddo?" Jiraiya askes Naruto.

"Sure am pervy sage! I'm going to make you really proud of me!" Naruto grinned.

"You sure are kiddo. Alright if both you boys are ready.....fight!" Jiraiya exclaimed swiping a hand downwards.

With that said sand immediately hurtled toward Naruto which the blonde avoided by making a clone and having the clone sky rocket him into the air. The clone poofed away as the sand barreled into it. Naruto winced as he obtained the clones memories. Gaara wasn't messing around. He was serious about the kage thing. Had he really gotten that bad? Naruto hadn't seemed to think so but maybe he might have. His attention span had been tiny when he was a kid.

"what the hell!?" Naruto yelped as raesengan's made of sand were thrown at him. 

"get your head in the game Naruto or your never gonna fight Sasuke" Gaara pointed out as he stood there arms crossed letting shukaku take the lead and pelt Naruto with raesengan shaped balls of sand.
