Chapter 14

Maui's POV

    Moana feel asleep in my arms about an hour ago. I haven't let go for a second. I run my hands through her long, beautiful hair. I've been doing this a lot the past few days and I have yet to get sick of it. I mean my hair is nice don't get me wrong, but it's always more fun to play someone else's. I watch her smile in her sleep as I do another run through with my hand in her hair. The sight warms my heart. 

     It's truly amazing that just a couple weeks ago I was the same jerk I've always been for the past thousand years. Then Moana came into my life and it changed for the better. In fact, she changed me. I'm becoming the man I always dreamed of being as a kid thanks to her. I still feel so guilty for being so mean a couple weeks back. I trapped her in cave and shoved her off her own boat several times. I'm so glad that I ended up changing because I hadn't, I wouldn't have her in my life, let alone as my lover. 

  3 hours later...

    Moana wakes up slowly and grins when she hears me humming. When I realize that heard me, I blush and help her sit up. "How are you darling?" She hugs me tightly. I hug her back but not as tight because I won't want to hurt her. "I'm doing better Maui. I think I'll be okay enough to start testing out my powers tomorrow." "That's great Moana. I can't wait to see you reach your full potential. You can even use me as a test subject if need be." She laughs. "I'm good Maui but thanks for volunteering. The last thing I want to do is turn you into something and then not be able to figure out how to transform you back into your normal demigod form." I nod in agreement. She has a point. She could accidently turn me into a frog and then not be able to turn me back. Plus, I really don't want to witness Moana have a panic attack. I've seen her have them a couple of times and they shatter my heart into a million pieces. 

    I'm not going to be one of those guys who says "My girl is so pretty, even when she cries." Moana is stunningly perfect but I'm not going to say I like it when she cries because I don't. When she cries, I beat myself up for not always being able to fix everything like I wish I could. Demigods can't make everything okay sadly.
