Heading to Oahu

Chapter 56

Maui's POV

   The next morning...

    Moana and I have finished storing our stuff in the boat and we're now saying goodbye to Tala. She gives us both hugs and kisses on the forehead before we head out. I untie the boat and jump on as it begins to float away. Due to how big I am, I nearly knock Moana off of it. She wobbles and I catch her before she falls into the ocean. I look back at Tala who's laughing at us. I give her one last smile and wave along with Moana before she and the shore of Te Fiti fade out of view. Before you question it, Tala is heading back to my island with the villagers later on today. I'm sure she'll get home safely. I offered to drop her off at my island on the way to our honeymoon spot, which to be honest, I'm not sure of just yet. She objected kindly and told me she'll see us soon. 

   "So Moana, where exactly are we heading to? I like having a destination to voyage to rather than float around indecisively." She looks up at me. "Well, I've always wanted to see the island of Oahu. Have you ever been there before?" I scratch my head trying to remember whether or not I've been to that island. "Gee, I don't think I've been to that island. In fact, I think it's the only island I haven't seen. Oahu it is." Moana smiles at me and I peck her on the lips. "We should be there tomorrow. Surprisingly, Oahu isn't too far from Te Fiti, at least from what I've heard. I'll navigate for awhile. You get some rest Moana. As beautiful as you are, you have dark bags under your eyes and look like you haven't slept in days." She nods and lies down in the opposite corner of the boat. She falls asleep immediately on impact. 

   I smile as I watch her sleep. It still amazes me how perfect she is. Not to be creepy, but I love watching her sleep. She looks so peaceful. I have the best girlfriend.... I mean wife. Sorry I'm still getting used to that. It doesn't even feel real. It feels like a dream. An amazing dream that it'll probably take me awhile to wake up from. I can't even begin to describe the amount of joy I feel having Moana as my wife. I don't know what's in store for us in the future just yet, but we're going to live in the moment and go with the flow. One thing's for sure, we're going to have an amazing honeymoon.
