Summary:Everyone knows the story of Cinderella. The girl who rose from rags to riches with the help of her fairy godmother and lived happily ever after. When the final bell tolled for her, she came out a princess.
However, this isn't her story. This is the story of Ashlin Crest. She had only been one step away before everything went wrong. Her legs turned into fins and her fiance was stolen right before her eyes by pirates. Determined to keep her happy ending, Ash was quick to chase, but as one lone girl against the fury of the sea, she stood no chance.
Until she came upon the Midnight pirates. This rowdy band of misfits may be an enemy of her kingdom, but they prove to be her only chance at reclaiming her lost love. But even with them, problems continue to arise from the mermaid curse placed upon her to the hotheaded crew member who refuses to let her think love at first sight will ever lead to a happily ever after.
Changes are occurring - both within her and in the world around her. There are only two choices before her: fight on as the woman people see her as or be swallowed by the raging sea.
First impression 9.5/10 -
Cover: The cover does a good job matching the description. Personally, I don't like the font, but the cover is still beautiful nonetheless. Congrats on the award by the way!
Summary: It's a little long for me, but it does set up the plot of the whole book. It explains what's happening and what you can expect, which I like.
Plot 9.5/10 - I think your plot is so interesting and wonderful. Your prologue gave great insight into what was happening. I don't entirely like the first part where you give the summary, but it's nice because you explain where you got the idea and that it's a companion novel to Nightmare. By the end of the first chapter, I was nearly crying. The detail you put in is amazing and I love all the differences from the classic Cinderella story.
Dialogue 10/10 - I did not see any dialogue errors and I thank you for that. I hate bad/incorrect dialogue.
Grammar 9.5/10 - Your spelling and grammar is amazing! The only thing I saw was a few extra spaces here and there. Other than that, it's flawless.
Characters 10/10 - I love your characters, especially Ash. All of the names are unique (Ashlin, Edris, etc.) and they give a great element to the story. I hate characters I'm assuming I'm supposed to hate and I fell in love with Ash. You do a great job with your characters!
Overall 9.7/10 - This story is so well written and I'm dying for more. I will definitely be reading the rest of it! I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
