Chapter 17- David's funeral

Annie's PoV:
Today was David's funeral. I don't know how I'm going to cope, even with Brennan beside me all day, it was still going to be tough. I got dressed⬇️

And Brennan put on a black suit⬇️

We then all headed off to the church where the funeral was taking place, Brennan holding my hand in support all the way there. Once we arrived we all took our seats and then about 10 minutes late the vicar arrived. After saying hello to all my family who had come to David's funeral I saw MK arrive. I ran over to her and hugged her in comfort, I can't imagine what it must be like to loose your brother and I hope I don't have to find out.( it feels so weird writing this knowing that Caleb is already dead.🆑rip x).
Everyone took their seats and after 5 minutes of taking to family, I saw the coffin. I squeezed Brennan's hand tightly as the coffin got to the front. The funeral commenced and by the end of it I don't think there was a single dry eye in the room. Once the ceremony had finished everyone went to a room next door with lots of food spread out.
I told everyone that I was going to the toilet, however once I got inside I started pouring my eyes out. I was never going to see my cousin again all because of Izzy. I had tried to keep it in the whole funeral but now all the tears were all coming out. Suddenly I got shocked when I heard the door open I looked up to see Brennan standing there looking concerned.
Brennan's PoV:
I saw Annie rush to the toilets looking like she was about to cry and because the toilets were unisex I decided I should go in and see if she was ok. I'm glad I did check on her because when I opened the door I saw Annie pouring her eyes out, leaning against the sinks. Immediately she saw me as I ran over to her and embraced her tightly resting my chin on her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around my waist.⬇️

Annie's PoV:
As Brennan hugged me he soothingly whispered into my ear "sshh Annie, you're the strongest girl I know and I know that you can get through this, we can get through this."
I nodded my head which was still buried in Brennan's shoulder before he pulled me away and kissed my forehead. As we did this the door opened and Luke walked in. He saw me in the state I was in, ran over to me, put his hand on my shoulder and said " Annie are you ok? Do you need anything."
I shook his hand off of my shoulder and quietly replied "no it's fine Luke Brennan was helping me and we were just about to go back out to the others" I smiled at him before grabbing Brennan's hand and heading towards the door.
We arrived back out to the others, ate dinner then talked for a bit.
Luke's PoV:
I just walked into the toilets to see Annie all upset with Brennan hugging her. It hurts me to see her like this and I wish it was me comforting her. I still really like Annie and want her all to myself but I don't think that's ever going to happen so I'm trying to move on and like some one else but I don't know if I can. I walk back out to see Brennan with his arm around Annie and everyone laughing. I feel left out but at the same time jealous of Brennan. I go to sit back down with my family and Caleb ,who insisted on sitting with Sydney. I keep glancing over to the table with Annie, Brennan and all of there families on. They are all laughing together. I wish I could be the one sitting with my arm around Annie laughing with everyone but no it always has to be perfect Brennan.
I get distracted from my thoughts when David's mum stands up, taps her wine glass and says...
Annie's PoV:
"I'd like to thank you all for joining us today in celebrating David's life, and what a wonderful person he was, we will remember him for as long as we live and he will leave happy memories with all of us. Thank you" everyone clapped her before I yawned and rested my head on Brennan's shoulder. He pulled his phone out and checked the time then rubbed my back before whispering "shall we go to bed soon gorgeous, it's 9:00 and we need to leave early tomorrow and our bedroom is only upstairs." I nodded my head and smiled to myself. Because the funeral venue was about 2 hours away from our house, we are all spending the night in a hotel which is above the building. Me and Brennan managed to get our own room which I was happy about.
Brennan pulled me up and told everyone " we're gonna get an early night, see everyone tomorrow." We went round and said good night to everyone at all their tables even Luke then headed to the stairs in the corner of the restaurant. Once we were up there we looked for our room number: 57. Eventually we found it and unlocked the door before entering our room. It was amazing.⬇️

Me and Brennan stood there in ore. As we were admiring it I yawned once again then Brennan said "come on let's get to bed".
We both got ready for bed, it was really hot in the hotel room so Brennan didn't bother putting a pyjama top on and I only had a vest on.
We both climbed into bed as Brennan wrapped his arm around me and I rested my head on his chest.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door
"Who is it?" Brennan questioned
"Luke, Annie you left your phone downstairs and your mum wanted me to give it to you." Luke replied.
"Come in, I forgot to lock the door." I say as I don't move from Brennan's chest. Luke comes in, puts my phone down on the table before I say thank you and he leaves.
I look up at Brennan kiss him and say "goodnight handsome" whilst switching of the light, he replies with "goodnight gorgeous." I smile then go to sleep.
Meanwhile :
Luke's PoV:
Every time I see Annie and Brennan together I get more and more jealous and now I have just seen them in bed together, Annie lying on Brennan's bare chest. Why can't that be my chest she's lying on. This needs to stop I either need to get over Annie or split her and Brennan up, but how?
