Chapter 24- the aftermath

Brennan's PoV:
I woke up and looked around the living room, Katie and Ryan were still asleep on top of each other and Annie was still asleep on top of me. I was about to grab my phone from the table behind me, when I felt Annie move on my chest, I looked back down at her as she rubbed her eyes while they were opening. I rubbed her back and whispered "hey gorgeous " she started speaking but I quickly covered her mouth with my hand so she wouldn't wake Katie and Ryan up. She was a bit surprised but when I pointed to Katie and Ryan she nodded. I took my hands away and kissed her. Just after Ryan woke up, he rolled over which woke up Katie. They both yawned then sat up.
We then all went up for breakfast, as we got up there we saw mum and dad standing at the door looking concerned, we went over to see what was wrong but I was shocked when I saw our garden. The thunderstorm had knocked over 2 trees our grass was all flooded and worst of all our car was on its side. Everyone stood there in shock looking at the aftermath of the storm.
Mum told us that we should stay inside because she doesn't want anymore trees falling down and hitting us, but also we can't drub anywhere because the big car had been ruined and we wouldn't all fit in our other car. We all sat down and ate breakfast then everyone got changed.
Then everyone did some homework before we vlogged for a bit and showed everyone the what the storm had done. At 1:00 it was time for lunch so everyone went to the kitchen to eat.
After lunch we all went downstairs to watch a film, but within the first 5 minutes of it, Katie's phone rang so she jumped off of the sofa then answered her phone as she went upstairs.
About 20 minutes later she came down and said "Edward has just invited me to stay round his for a week, do you guys mind, I still be going to gym and stuff Annie, it's just I don't get to see him as much as you two see each other so it would be nice to see him, mum and dad said it was ok but I wanted to check with you two first." I said it was fine and Annie said "of course I know how you feel, you just want to see them and spend time with them." She said as she looked up at me and smiled, I smiled back before Katie said "I know right I just want to spend some time with him." She got interrupted by Ryan who said "guys can you talk about this somewhere else because I am trying to watch a film but all I can hear is you guys going on about relationships." We all laughed at this before Katie went over to him and said, "Ryan you will have these feelings one day too you know." Ryan pulled a face at Katie before she went upstairs to get her stuff ready.
Me, Annie and Ryan stayed down to watch the film until it finished. Annie said she was just getting a drink so she got up off of me and limped upstairs. I looked back at Ryan and saw that he was frowning. I went over to him and said "what's up buddy?" He sighed before saying "we used to play together all the time but now your always with Annie and I'm always alone." I pulled him into a hug before saying "Ryan I'm so sorry I didn't realise, it's just when you fall in love it's the most wonderful feeling in the world, but I will make sure that we won't leave you out, hang on didn't you say that you liked that girl in your year who your friends with called Rebecca." He nodded his head so I grabbed his phone, unlocked it and went on Ryan's Instagram. He tried to grab it back and said "hey what are you doing?" I replied with "she likes you to you know Hayley told me a while ago." He smiled as I went onto his direct messages and sent one to Rebecca saying "hey um I just wanted to say I like you more than a friend"
Within 5 seconds she replied "really so do I!". I handed Ryan his phone back and let him carry on with his conversation to Rebecca. I went upstairs to see where Annie was and I saw she was in Katie's room packing so I went in, sat on Katie's bed and went on my phone.
"You know Brennan you could help us," Katie said struggling to do up her suitcase.
"I could," I replied "but I'd rather sit here on my phone and watch you struggle, it's more fun and less work." Annie laughed at this and Katie sarcastically smiled before finally doing up her suitcase.
Me and Annie left her and went to our room, once we got in I said to her "guess what Ryan just told me?"
"What?" She replied
"He said he missed it when we used to play together,"
"Poor Ryan" Annie replied.
"Yeah so I told him I'd play with him more but then I set him up with this girl he likes who also likes him back, and they are talking to each other right now on Instagram."
She smiled before saying "good for Ryan" I smiled at her as she smiled back at me, we leaned in and she kissed me lightly. As Annie did this Ryan burst in and said "guess wha..., oh sorry." We immediately pulled away embarrassed before I said "what were you saying Ryan?"
"Oh well I decided to ask Rebecca out and she said yes!" Me and Annie both got up and hugged him. He smiled then ran off.
"Have we ever not been disturbed?" Annie questioned
"I think your right, I mean I'm happy for Ryan but it had to be that moment where he ran in." We both laughed before we went out my room and sat at the table as it was almost dinner.
"Brennan do you mind setting the table dear?" Mum said. So I got up and later everyone's place, I left Annie for last then as I have her the plate and cutlery I whispered in her ear, "best till last" before kissing her cheek. She giggled then I sat down next to her before everyone else came in. We heard the doorbell ring and it was Edward so we all said goodbye to Katie before sitting down for dinner.
Once dinner had finished there was another knock at the door and it was ms Katie. She said "I've come to get Annie, come on sweetheart." I was shocked she had just turned up after a month and acted like nothing had happened, trying to take Annie. I looked at Annie who was shocked as well, I squeezed her hand under the table. I didn't want Annie to go.

I might not be updating until the new year because I am very busy and have lots of family coming down so that was 2 chapters in a row as an early Christmas present. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Xx
