Chapter 40- you're my hero!

Annie's PoV:
"Noooooo!" I screamed whilst crying.
It was all in slow motion: my daughter falling to the ground. Suddenly, I saw a pair of hands reach out. I looked fully out and saw Brennan had dived onto the floor and caught Emily before she hit it. I ran over to him crying more than I've ever cried before. Everyone else ran up the stares and grabbed Izzy, Mr Mike called the police. I knelt down beside Brennan as he sat up holding a stunned Emily. I started crying even more so he just pulled me into a very tight hug. In between cries I said to Brennan "your my hero! You just saved our daughter!" We both pulled away from the hug then stood up, Brennan still preciously carrying Emily. I hugged him from the side again as he put an arm round by back, I look up at Emily to check she is ok, she is still crying a bit but Brennan is rocking her so she should go to sleep soon. I looks up at him and smile while he rubs my back. I don't know how I could ever say thank you to Brennan.

About 10 minutes later the police came and handcuffed Izzy. Me, Brennan, Mrs Jill and mr Mike all went to the police station with her. The whole way there Brennan held Emily tightly, we never wanted to loose her again. Once we all arrived we got sent into questioning one by one. I went first. I walked in and sat down nervously. The police officer then said "ok can you please tell me what happened from your point of view."
"Ok," I start "well everyone was sitting down stares when we heard the baby monitor go off so me and my boyfriend went upstairs to get our daughter, but when we got upstairs we saw that Izzy was holding her. She then....." I told the police officer the whole story and by the end I was in tears and all shaky. The police officer said "thank you dear, I'll just leave you in heat to calm down for a minute, would you like me to get anyone?"
"Can Brennan come please?" I say in between cries. She nods then leaves to get Brennan. Once she shuts the door I start crying hardly again. My daughter nearly died earlier and it was the scariest experience of my life.
As I'm crying to myself I suddenly hear the door open, I look up to see Brennan, still holding Emily. He runs over to me as I get up and run to him. Brennan embraces me tightly as I Ray into his shoulder, he hugs for about one minute, while my crying calms down a bit. The police officer then comes in again and says "excuse me sir, we will need to question you now." She says. Brennan nods then hands me Emily before I leave and go back to the others. Everyone sees me and Katie runs over and hugs me, making sure to not squash Emily. I then sit down, replaying in my head what had happened back home. I squeezed Emily hard, just staring at the wall.
Eventually Brennan came out and I stood up and hugged him as Mrs Jill went in for questioning. Because Mrs Jill was the last person to be questioned, mr Mike said all the children could go to the restaurant round the corner and get a little snack while he would wait for Mrs Jill to come out. We all walked to the restaurant then sat down at a table, Katie, Edward and Ryan all went to the toilet while me and Brennan stayed sitting down at the table.
I looked at Brennan and said, "I just want to curl up into a ball and wish today never happened." As I leaned my head on his shoulder. He stroked my hair as I looked up at him. I then kissed Brennan. I needed this, it cheered me up a bit. We both pulled away then I slightly smiled. I then looked down at our daughter who was peacefully sleeping in Brennan's arms and rubbed her chin with my finger. Brennan put an arm around my waist as everyone came back out from the toilets. We all ordered a little snack, I ordered some chocolate cake, then we all ate.
About 10 minutes later, Mrs Jill and mr Mike came in, paid for our food then we all left and went straight home. My eyes we'd starting to shut in the car but I was trying to keep them open. Brennan, who was sitting next to me noticed as he took Emily off of me and whispered, "you go to sleep Ans, get some rest." I smiled before resting my head on his shoulder and going to sleep.
Brennan's PoV:
Annie rested her head on my shoulder as we drive home. Once we arrived, I gave Emily to mum to look after for a minute while I picked up Annie and carried her inside before gently putting her down in our bed. I then went back out to get Emily off of mum. I kissed her goodnight before going into our room. I gently put Emily into her bed then lightly woke up Annie. We both got changed into our pyjamas, which for me when it is warm like tonight, is just a pair of shorts. We then go into the bathroom and clean our teeth before getting into bed. I wrapped Annie in my arms and kissed her head as she immediately went to sleep.
It took me a little longer to go to sleep as loads of thoughts were going through my mind: is Izzy in prison right now, was there something mentally wrong with Izzy that caused her to do such a horrible thing, what would have happened if I hadn't of caught Emily, would she still be with us? Eventually I fell asleep.
