Eon's POV

I watched in horror, as I watched Riverflow crumple into the forest floor. I stopped in my tracks, tears threatening to spill from my eyes. I could not even scream out his name. I was too terrified to do a single thing.

Everything was in slow motion as massive arms grasped me from behind. I wanted to run and help Riverflow.

I writhed, screaming, "NO! LET- GO- OF ME! HELP!!!"

Three monsters rushed past me, stomping toward Riverflow's supine body. A scream crept up my throat, ready to launch at the monsters.

Suddenly, a giant arm clamped down over my mouth. I could breathe through my nose, but I couldn't scream. All I could yell was muffled screams.

Shock paralyzed me as the monsters started beating Riverflow's unconscious body.

"MMM! MMMMMMMMM!" I muffled, trying to get them to stop.

Suddenly, a deep voice sounded from one of Riverflow's attackers, a demon.

"This'll be an excellent treat for Chaot!"

A wraith looked angrily at the demon.

"You mean Mistress Chaot?"

"I'm sorry, Caligo. I meant Mistress Chaot."

"Yes!" a phantasm joined.

"Should we take him back to her?"

I turned my head to find Maia unconscious in the tight grip of a storm giant.

Blackout was in the clutches of a demon, trying to escape. She tried escaping as a shadow, but it didn't work out.

Spotlight did not fare better, as he was in the arms of a wraith, unconscious.

Rocksworth was unconscious in a dragon's claws.

Cyclone tried fighting back against a rock golem, but he was stuck in its grip.

Pyroclast burned several times in the arms of a storm giant, but it was futile.

Arcmagos was knocked out, in the clutches of a fluid elemental and a lava golem.

Forestra was trying her hardest to manipulate the plants while in the clutches of an ent and specter, but it didn't do much.

"Of course!" The demon replied.

"We'll take all of them because Mistress Chaot said that they took something that was hers. We can't let that happen."

"MM!" I tried screaming, attempting to yell out Maia's name.

She was unconscious.

Spotlight, Rocksworth, Riverflow, and Arcmagos were unconscious.

Blackout, Cyclone, Pyroclast, amd Forestra couldn't escape. And I was their equal.

Suddenly, the phantasm that had me at its mind's mercy (i.e. had me levitating against my will) ran, dragging me with it. Its pace sped up as we darted through the forest even more.

I wanted this to be over. I was so tired after a year of running away from the monsters.

Maybe we would be captured this time.

Maybe Chaot could actually win.

I drifted off into sleep.
