Eon's POV
The most interesting part of my otherwise dull day was certainly when an armless phantasm opened the door to my room and told me I'd be executed in a few hours.
But I was suspecting it for a while.
If I was an evil woman who wanted nothing more than the death of a couple teenagers, I'd want to do it as formally as possible.
And it helped a lot when I began thinking of it in another way.
Era.
Eternity--- Feliz...
I smiled a little when I thought of the little boy's bright face and my mother's kind one.
I nearly forgot the time when I found him in my living room, soaked in his own blood, with my mother wailing over him.
But that didn't matter.
I was going to die.
But I would see them again.
Finally, after months of suffering, I'd welcome death and soar into the afterlife. And when I got there, Era and Eternity would be waiting for me.
It had been around an hour since the phantasm told me about my own execution.
Oddly, with every second, my anxiety lessened, replaced by a soft, delicate peace - not that I wanted to die, I just wanted to see my brother and mother...
So technically, I wanted to die.
I stayed in the corner, waiting for the footsteps of Chaot and her monster friends.
I was struck by hunger several times, but it would be worth it.
After several hours of thinking and contemplating my own death, the footsteps finally echoed down the hall.
Boom... boom...
Death.
Boom... boom...
I was ready.
When the footsteps were at their loudest, they stopped behind the door.
A human voice - Chaot - instructed her monsters to open the door.
A little anxiety made its way to me as I watched the door retreat into the ceiling.
A demon and phantasm stood at the doorway, like guards, Chaot directly in between them. The woman smiled a bit and walked slowly into the room.
"Howdy, Eon," she greeted.
I did not make a sound.
"You're probably thinking I'd hurt you right now, but that would have to wait. My monsters over here are to escort you to your execution. But, I'd like to speak with you for a while."
"About?" I asked.
Chaot smiled.
"Let's go back to... hmm... 2016. Do you remember that time?"
I gritted my teeth.
"Yes."
"Well, I just want to say that in hindsight, it all seems like a bunch of little games, no? I mean, your friend Cyclone touched that painting of me and it pulled him into this game I'd set up. Well, you could call it a manipulation. You remember those three, Marco, Colin, and Bern? I decided to manipulate them into creating that painting and hanging it where I knew there were Enigmas - your school. I was able to use my little mind tricks to get you guys into Room 15, get Cyclone to touch that painting, and everything followed from there."
