Blackout's POV

Even though I witnessed it all at once, I was still in a daze as to what had happened.

However, I only believed one thing.

Unfortunately for me, it was the one thing I didn't want to believe.

The fact that Feliz was dead messed with my belief radar.

Nothing felt real, yet it was all so much to take in.

The portal opened and spat us all out.

My shoulder instantly crashed into... hot desert sand. I slid and rolled to a slow stop. Screams filled the air as my other friends hit the sand. It scalded my shoulders like a sunburn, but my fatigue overpowered the heat. I just laid there for a moment, letting the sun and sand bake me alive.

"Forest!"

"Riverflow!"

"Rocksworth!"

The moment I heard those screams, I forced my eyes open, but the sun's glare reduced them to a squint. I pushed myself off of the sand, forcing myself to my feet.

I squinted, but all I could register was at least six figures running toward another three laying on the ground. Those three were oddly red... crimson, almost...

No...

I found myself bolting toward them, still fatigued. My eyes adjusted to the light, or at least tried to. I widened my eyes a little more to see more clearly what was happening, but when I did, the images were burned to my mind.

Rocksworth's skin had paled greatly, and her brown eyes started fading, but she still held on to her life by a very thin string. Her face and chest in particular were even bloodier than before.

Riverflow had a gaping hole in his jacket, which revealed a large wound on his stomach. It was so bad to the point I could almost see his innards. I was honestly surprised how he was still alive...

Forestra...

Her eyes were dark, especially with black all around her eyelids. Her skin was as pale as paper, only darkened by the numerous splotches of blood. Her abdomen was particularly bloody, the sand around her gaining a new crimson coating, spreading like a wildfire. Her clothes were extremely torn up.

My heart tore itself apart as well.

"Please, don't die on us..." Maia sobbed.

"We just watched Feliz die! We don't want to---"

Forestra groaned.

"Pain..." she croaked.

"So... much... pain..."

"How do we stop the bleeding!?" Arcmagos asked frantically, fighting the urge to vomit.

I could see the three shivering at this point, their eyes opening and closing every passing second.

I didn't want to accept the fact that they were dying.

"Guys, get a cloth or something... I don't have anything," Eon pleaded.

"Hurry! Find something!"

Maia's eyes were huge, but she did not blink. Tears slowly welled up at the bottom.

"They're gonna die... there's nothing we can do about it."

"MAIA!" Cyclone screamed.

"Don't talk like that!"

"Maia, what are you talking about!? We need... Eon... Eon, use your bra or something!" Pyroclast yelled.

Eon looked at Pyroclast in frightened inquisition.
