Forestra's POV

The ten of us flew out of the portal Feliz had created, crashing into the shore. I staggered to my feet, standing up along with everyone else.

Feliz lurched out of the portal and quickly spun around. She closed the portal and faced us.

I looked around.

Since we were on a shore, I couldn't see much, but I saw cars zooming through their daily routines. But I felt something hanging in the air. Something... intense, which swam about every inch of existence.

Must be Chaot.

"Alright, so we need to track Chaot down," Feliz said.

"Any ideas?"

Arcmagos shrugged.

"I dunno, maybe look for smoke and screaming people? We know that she's terrorizing everything in her search for us," he said.

"So if she finds us..." Pyroclast joined.

"She'll be much angrier, and much stronger. And she's only running off the power of forsaken souls..."

"Her own power would return in a month, if not less, right?" Blackout asked.

"Exactly, so we need to find her and kill her," Cyclone said.

I had a thought.

I immediately locked my gaze on Maia.

"Maia, you need to fly around and find her. Remember when you made the mountain cave in when we were in the simulation?"

Maia nodded.

"Yeah. I think that was because my wings were charged with energy. If I could harness that energy, we might have even a slim chance of beating Chaot."

"That is unlikely, but I believe if we plan well enough, we can defeat her..." Feliz mused.

"The only catch is that Eon has no power..."

"I do," Eon cut in.

"It's just not useful in a scenario like this."

"What is it?" Feliz asked.

"I can get sporadic visions. I get information, but I have no control over them whatsoever."

Maia suddenly looked at her, her eyes shining with an idea... literally.

"Eon, you need to find a way to acquire information. Stay in a building or somewhere and try to receive a vision. Maybe you can find Mae's location and we can rescue her."

"I know she's imprisoned, but the problem is where," Eon explained.

She sighed and lowered her gaze.

"You can fight off Chaot, I'll try to find where Mae is. Will you guys be fine?"

Feliz nodded.

"We will, and if something happens, I'll open a portal in front of all of you and we can come back another day. My point is we try now, and hard. Okay?"

Everyone nodded.

"Alright, Eon. I'll send you on top of a tall building so you can see where Chaot is. If anything goes wrong, come down and get the freak out of there, alright? Here..."

I saw a portal open up in front of Eon, who jumped through.

As for the rest of us, we went on to look for Chaot...

Eon's POV

In a bright flash, I launched from the portal and into a rough cement floor.

Ouch.

I felt my shoulder throbbing. I rolled a few times before completely stopping. I sighed heavily and stood up, looking around me.

I was standing on top of a great building, which was towering over the others. Smoke was rising from many of the buildings, helicopters hurrying to rescue people and put out fires. Down below, cars honked madly at each other, the traffic completely standstill.

This was chaotic.

Shakily, I walked around the roof for a while. I scanned for any hints of red and crimson.

Nothing.

Where was Chaot?

Maybe she was behind a building, or walking around the streets, probably blowing up a building here and there. I'd looked everywhere for minutes, which soon felt like hours. I paced around, hoping I wouldn't find a surprise of Chaot blasting energy at me. Thankfully, I hadn't... but I hoped it would stay that way.

But after a while, I started feeling tremors.

It started as a dull hum, steadily intensifying with every second. My nerves were burning. The world seemed to be magnified in my eyes. Adrenaline raced through my muscles, enveloping every muscle in the burning sensation.

"What... what's happening...?"

All of a sudden, the entire building jolted, taking the ground from under my feet. I collapsed on the cement roof, breath completely gone.

Something strange happened.

Everything seemed to be warping and changing.

After a few moments of haziness, I was hit with a chilling realization.

The building was tipping over.

I looked on with terror as the other side of the building enlarged, ascending to tower high over me. I violently shook my head.

I was about to do something absolutely insane.

I ran up the building, dashing heavily up the sharp incline. It was getting strenuous, my legs already burning. I made a final effort up the incline and jumped diagonally upward.

I reached up and hooked myself on the edge with my entire arm. I quickly hoisted myself up and struggled to my feet.

My mind went all over the place with the sights I saw.

Below, the building had inclined to the point that it was like a downward slide. I felt weightless, as if I were in an elevator. The building fell through the city.

I could hear screaming civilians below... and I couldn't do anything to save them.

I shook my head again.

If that feat I pulled off a while ago was insane, this definitely surpassed it. But this was the only other way I could find Chaot. The incline was steep, and the way down was long...

I gathered every speck of courage I had inside of me as I let my foot trail off the edge, kicked the other one out, and was sent plummeting to the ground.

My back smashed into the rough surface of the building. My neck muscles tensed up as I zipped downward.

I tried to keep my shoes away from the windows and walls, but I couldn't keep them away forever.

My heels crashed into the ground, and everything went wrong from there.

My knees buckled under me, and I was suddenly sent flying through the air, flying farther from the collapsing building.

My stomach dropped when I saw an entire army of monsters above me, ready to kill me in midair.

Under these circumstances, I seriously doubted if I'd make it out of Cebu City alive...
