Maia's POV

Rocksworth and Cyclone were saved, which left six.

A pillar of water surrounded Mikaela, and when it dissipated, a boy took her place. He was wearing a blue jacket, which had a rather unsightly hole in his stomach. He wore loose pants. Behind him were wings made of water. Again, I couldn't see his face.

The discordant soul appeared.

"I am a nobody."

You told him a joke as funny as you could manage. He almost cracks a smile...

The area around his head glowed blue, and lots and lots and lots of water droplets emerged, homing in on me. It was to the point that I was almost entirely surrounded in them.

I maneuvered my way through the tears with the help of my wings. Fortunately, I only got hit once. Unfortunately, it stung my arm badly.

"Don't waste your time on me."

You reminded him that Pia did not mean to abandon him; rather, she simply wanted to be friends. He seems to have calmed a little...

Circular formations of icicles started converging on me.

Finding gaps in the formations, I twisted and turned around on them, and thankfully, I got away unscathed.

"I'll just drag you down."

You asked him to give you some trivia about any topic under the sun. He couldn't hold back a response...

His face started fading into view, and the water wings disappeared. He stared at me with his icy blue eyes.

"Oh, gee, it seems that I was wrong all along... I'm thankful that I met someone really nice in the past few years. Your kindness is as true as they say, indeed," Riverflow told me.

He became a puddle of water and Mikaela rose from it, a rather strange expression on her face.

Mikaela burned herself up completely to create a pillar of fire, and through the blaze, I could make out a silhouette of a girl.

Once the fire dissipated, I saw that she wore a red-orange gown which seemed like it was on fire - it could very well be on fire. Even through the flashiness of her outfit, her face wasn't visible...

The uncaring soul appeared.

"So, are YOU the star? Can you really save this hopeless world?"

You struck a dramatic pose in front of her. Something seemed to click in her head...

Her gown started blazing, and she started spinning around. Balls of fire shot from her gown, and they exploded in a cross pattern. Since that was particularly dense, I escaped with a few burns on my arms.

"Do you really want us to perish!?"

You asked her if she still wanted to sing for the students. She felt like saying yes...

A miniature sun rose above her, and it started shooting streams of fire at me. That was easy to deal with, until a heart-shaped spark emerged from her and started shooting flames in circular blasts at me, and those blasts were rather high, so I struggled with flying above them, resulting to several burns on my legs.

"They call you the Campus Sweetheart. I know you are not!"

You mentioned the Back-to-School Dance that was supposed to happen when you were Grade 8. She suddenly remembered something...

Her gown stopped burning, and I could now see her face and ever-gleaming eyes.

At that moment, I felt the burns I received fade away from existence, much to my relief.

"Perhaps it was better if I kept performing for them, huh? Besides, you've proven yourself several times. I'm very confident that you could beat her and end this. It's all for the best, anyway... well, we'll be fine. Knock them dead, Maia!" Pyroclast cheered me on.

She burned herself to ashes, and Mikaela rose up from them.

I'd note that her expression was different from last time, as if she remembered something important to her...
