Maia's POV

Four left.

Mikaela suddenly glowed green and she disappeared. Something seemed to sprout from where she once was...

In Mikaela's place stood a girl with a long robe which reached the floor. It had a flower pattern on it. She had a gaping hole where the side of her torso would have been. She had many splintered branches jutting out of her back. She was standing on a field of grass which was wilted. Her face was blocked from my view.

The cruel soul appeared.

"They were all cruel to me. Now, I'll be the one who'll be cruel to all! Even YOU!"

You refused to fight her. It seems really familiar to her...

Lots of thorns suddenly erupted from the field she was standing on, and they all came for me. Unfortunately, I was held in place by more thorns... again... which left me no choice but to use my wings. Unfortunately again, those thorns seemed too tough for my wings to cut through... which left me to use my wings to block the thorns. It really stung badly. Thankfully, the thorns on my wrists and ankles released their hold on me, even though they left several wounds on me.

"Nobody cares about me. Nobody!"

You hugged her and reminded her of those who loved her, especially Arcmagos and Blackout. It felt a little familiar...

She then struck the ground with her fists, then she was covered in a sphere made of thick roots. She floated up in the air and attempted barreling the sphere into me. Luckily for me, I was swift enough to dodge her blows.

"I will make sure nobody will ever leave me again!"

You assured her that you'll see her again after this mess. Suddenly, she was overwhelmed by memory...

Her face was now clear to me. The branches on her back became less jagged. She was smiling brightly at me, and her hazel eyes gave off a comforting green glow.

"Our fates were changed because of you. Now, it's your turn to decide yours," Forestra told me.

She wrapped herself in a sphere of vines and it exploded to reveal Mikaela.

Mikaela's purple body suddenly glowed more intensely, and I was blinded for a few moments.

When the light cleared, I saw a boy. He was in golden armor with dark violet edges. Somewhere near his neck, there was a symbol of a circle with six wings coming from it.

It looked too familiar.

He had a majestic purple cape. His right hand held a glowing purple staff with crystals floating around its head. His face was still blocked from my view.

The wicked soul appeared.

"You! Are you misleading us? Now I know what she meant!"

You stared deep into his eyes. He remembers the glistening eyes of someone he knew...

His staff glowed brighter, and lots and lots of purple orbs spewed out of it. First, the barrages were concentrated in a certain area for a period of time. While that happened, more orbs wafted through the air in a pattern, and I was able to weave through them. That was until the staff rose high into the air and launched spirals of energy. I had a pretty hard time dodging those, but I managed.

"I won't forgive you for this!"

You hugged him. He feels something familiar... perhaps, it had something to do with...?

His staff suddenly went larger and became light yellow in color. I tried flying away, but it was so big that I got caught in the swing of the staff. The staff turned brown, I tried flying away, and to my surprise, I felt nothing at all, even though I was caught in the swing again. The staff turned light yellow, and I decided to stay still. As I expected, the staff just passed right through me, and I felt no impact. We kept repeating that for a few times.

"It's my duty to protect them from beings like you!"

You reminded him of the love that blossomed between him and Forestra. He was overwhelmed with memory...

The white fuzz faded away from view, and his face was now visible, and I realized that he was wearing a golden crown with red crystals. He smiled at me.

"Our future rests upon you, Maia. I believe you would do what's right," Arcmagos told me.

He glowed an intense purple color, and Mikaela was in his place.

Her expression was a bit more melancholic than last time...
