Eon's POV
"I like the outfit Rocksworth put her into," Maia commented, her gaze locked onto the glass door at the back of Mae's house.
I followed her gaze and saw Mae's black and white ensemble. It looked baggy on her, as she had lost weight in the past few months... But it still looked great on her.
I slightly smirked.
Mae's hair was very long. She looked quite strange with that hair. Hopefully she could be given a haircut before we went anywhere.
This was our safe haven.
Chaot could not find us here.
"Why are they still inside?" Spotlight asked, lazily leaning on the swing set.
I shrugged.
"I don't know. Maybe Rocksworth's just keeping the poor girl company."
"I hope she doesn't go through what she has already gone through," Feliz added.
"That girl has experienced too much. It's best that we protect her."
"When we have to go and figure out some things about Chaot, she has to stay here. We all know that time will come, so she has to stay..." Maia's voice trailed off as the back door opened and Rocksworth peeked out.
"We've got food!" she called out.
"Come on in so we can eat."
Then the door shut.
I suddenly felt like sprinting through the yard.
"Race you all!" I yelled and took off.
I was certain that Forestra or Cyclone would win, as they were the fastest.
I darted across the yard quickly.
Suddenly, everything went blank. The world swirled around as I tripped over nothing. Then, everything lit up once again as I was sent tumbling to the ground.
I brushed off my dizziness and looked up at the front porch, seeing Feliz there, smiling.
"Feliz!" I yelled, scrambling to my feet.
"Don't do that!"
"Alright, children," Feliz laughed.
"Come on now. There's food."
"Thank you very much," I said, exasperated.
I walked forward, seeing myself face-to-face with another portal. I stepped right through it.
I ended up in the kitchen, the aroma of spaghetti, sauce, and chicken wafting through the air. I smiled.
"Mmm..." I dragged.
"Smells good..."
"Thanks," a husky voice answered.
Mae.
"I made it myself."
I approached a chair, pulled it out and sat down.
I suddenly remembered Era... how much he loved to cook...
Our mother would always make cookies and Era would be the first to shape them.
I could still see his stubby little fingers squishing the dough with a grin, exclaiming, "Mom, can I eat it? Can Eon have some, too?"
Our mother - Eternity - would always give us some cookie dough.
Now, I was out risking my life every day.
