Chapter six - The Council

Keira woke up, her head pounding and every muscle in her body aching. She was relieved that the tubes that had been coming out of her body had been removed. Now all she wanted to do was sleep.

Keira turned to her side and closed her eyes. Half an hour later a small blonde woman in a pink tunic was by her side. The woman shook Keira to wake her up. Keira raised her head and yawned, she gasped at the sight in front of her.

Such a creepy woman, she thought to herself. The woman was smiling like a seven year old at a princess party.

"Wakey wakey Miss," the woman said. Keira winced, her voice was squeaky and high pitched, not something you wanted to hear when you woke up.

The woman helped Keira up and removed her ankle from the sling.

"I'm Elle; I'll take you to your recovery room now."

Elle handed Keira a pair of crutches and helped her out of the bed. She then opened the door and helped Keira to the door and out of the hospital. The woman led Keira to the building that was just opposite the hospital.

The building looked so homely and welcoming. The walls were painted white and the windows and door were bright blue. There was a neat silver garden fence surrounding the small garden filed with rose bushes, daisies and sunflowers. A wooden pathway wound to the door, where a mat had been placed right on the third step with the words 'welcome' in blue.

Keira let Elle open the door and they walked in together.

The door opened up to a brightly coloured hallway with decorations of different kinds and colours of mirrors, hearts and flowers.

There was a little room almost right at the door that had two small couches and a coffee table inside. They walked past it and into another room.

"This is the room in which you will be staying," Elle said.

Keira nodded and continued to marvel at how huge and beautiful it was. Long, golden, blue drapes covered the windows from ceiling to floor; they let just enough light for Keira to be able to see the rest of the room. Tan coloured bedside tables had been set next to the simple designer cot that had gold finishing and a white kist at the foot of it.

The bed covers were a pale blue and had tiny golden flowers embroidered into them. The carpet was oh so soft and fluffy. Keira could feel its softness underneath her toes that were peeping out of the cast the doctor had put on her ankle.

A grand mirror stood opposite the bed and reflected the beautiful colours of the wall and the bed.

Keira sighed and plopped herself on the bed. The warmth and cushiony feel of it made her close her eyes and want to doze off.

"So, how do you like it?" Elle asked.

"It's beautiful, and comfortable, thank you so much," Keira said as she sat up to face Elle.

Elle smiled and sat on the armchair that was against the wall. Okay, so maybe she wasn't so creepy.

"Well that's good, just don't get too used to it, you will recover in a few weeks' time."

Keira frowned at the thought of ever leaving the wonderful place that she was in and asked, "Why aren't our rooms as extravagant as this?"

Elle laughed and shook her head at Keira's question.

"Well then you wouldn't want to get out of bed and train would ya?" She replied.

Keira laughed at this and agreed, "That is quite true. Our beds are comfortable but not as much as this one."
