Chapter twenty nine - Kantepiliyah
Velaador smiled when Melachiyek returned empty handed. If he could not capture the girl no one would.
"Why do we need her anyway?"
"She's the only one who can stop all of this, and that is not what we want. What we want is war. We can easily destroy the ferlioboa tribe, but if we have the humans to do it for us, it's even better. Why do you think we stage ferliobog attacks? For fun? No. Humans must believe that it is the creatures that are evil, the creatures that attack and they must be destroyed. Ferliobogs must believe that humans are evil and only seek to destroy, it is all a misunderstanding but they will never know that. She is the only one who understands and who can make them see through the confusion. If they do not have her? They keep fighting."
Veladoor was in awe. He could now see why this being was The Master. As he spoke, the ground beneath them seemed to rumble and shake ever so slightly that it was almost unnoticeable.
"She's more powerful than they think. If we use that power and make her one of us, our empire will grow and we will be the greatest nation. I will finally have Taurma and Kriagdor at my feet."
Velaador smiled timidly, he thought of all the power he might gain from this with the favor of The Master.

Talieyes placed Keira on a low bed in his healing room. He unzipped her hoodie carefully, revealing the mark that the clespe stone had made in her chest. A small bright white lied glowed from the indentation and when he touched it, she stirred.
"Her condition isn't as critical as I thought, the stone has already started to heal her. But it cannot do all the work."
Skydor lay in a bed next to Keira and he watched her as Miedesa massaged his ankle with inoyih oil. Her beautiful face had scratches and her neck seemed to throb with welting bruises going around it. He was glad that he had decided to visit her, otherwise she would be under the care of inexperienced humans and their useless medicines.
"What does she need?" Skydor half whispered as he spoke.
"I'm going to have to perform Kantepiliyah on her."
Skydor jerked up at the word, causing the bottle filled with oil to fall and spill onto the floor. The Kantepiliyah? The procedure was too intense, so intense that if it didn't completely heal her, it would kill her.
"You can't let her go through that," Skydor protested, "No one has ever survived. What makes you think she could?"
"She is of peacemaker descent, stronger than we could ever imagine, it's not anything risky," Talieyes sort of chuckled.
He climbed onto a stool and removed a few bottles from the high shelf.
"What? You're doing it now?"
"There is no time to waste, as we speak your people are gathering their troops. Or have you forgotten that tomorrow is the day that your father was planning to act?"
An awkward silence filled the room for a minute. Skydor rose to his feet and walked towards Talieyes. Talieyes watched him, pouring the contents of a round flask into a small stone bowl.
"Talieyes," Skydor held Talieyes' wrist as he was about to mix the last ingredient.
"You want war?" Talieyes paused and raised his eyebrow.
Skydor retreated and limped back to the bed he had been laying on. All the while Miedesa had been cleaning the mess that Skydor had made.
"I apo-"
