Bailey's POV
I walk into the living room to see the angels, Mark, Macie, Jesse, Sam, and Dean all watching a tv. Okay, so Sam isn't watching. He's staring at the floor instead. I walk up behind them to see what's going on, and I realize why he doesn't want to watch immediately. There goes Jess, burning away on the ceiling.
"Seriously, you're making Sam and Dean watch this?" I say incredulously, looking at the angels.
"No, we're letting Macie watch it," Gabriel explains.
"Ah," I reply, turning to look at my daughter. "How do you li-Holy crap, you're pregnant."
She nods. "Thus the Supernatural marathon. Taking my mind off things and stuff."
"Also, Gabriel wanted to annoy me," Lucifer adds.
"And probably Sam and Dean, as well," Macie says with a glance at the two very confused boys.
"Okay, back on topic. You're pregnant?" I repeat, looking at Macie.
"Yeah," she replies, not seeming to care very much.
"But... I mean, you didn't look pregnant last night."
She shrugs. "Guess things are different when the dad is a god versus a human, or even an angel."
"A god?" Gabriel, Castiel and I repeat in shock.
"I figured it was Jesse," Gabriel adds, causing Jesse's face to turn a faint red.
Macie shakes her head slightly. "No, um... Zeus, he... Made me... You get the point."
"All in favor of murdering Zeus, say 'aye!'" I say. The only one who actually does it is Gabriel.
"I think you're forgetting that he's a god," Lucifer reminds me.
"I remember, I just don't care," I reply.
"Can't archangels just like, snap at them and they'll turn to dust?" Dean asks.
"No," Lucifer says simply.
"But at the hotel with-"
"That never happened," Lucifer tells him. "Just like the apocalypse never happened. Well, that one never did, anyway."
"So you never decided to murder everybody?" Dean asks.
"Decided to, yes. Tried it? No."
"Why not?" Dean asks.
"Because Gabriel is a whiny little brat," Lucifer replies, looking at his brother. The younger archangel sticks his tongue out at him, and Lucifer just laughs. "Essentially, Gabriel singlehandedly averted the apocalypse," Lucifer adds.
"But didn't you guys hate each other?" Dean asks. "I mean, you killed him in our universe."
"Yeah, but that Lucifer didn't hate Gabriel either. He was just doing what he had to."
"Which is funny because it's the opposite of what happened here," Mark observes. "You didn't kill him, but he annoys the crap out of you."
"Basically," Lucifer agrees.
"Hey!" Gabriel whines.
"Just telling it how it is," Lucifer says.
This is basically how our day goes. Sam and Dean, and later Crowley, Rowena, and Kevin, continue asking questions, and the angels continue bickering about them. I notice Sam watches Gabriel a lot, but the angel never once looks at the boy-at least, not when I watch him.
Macie and Jesse watch Supernatural for a long time, which is easy for them because they don't have anything to get up for. Well, that is, until Macie starts having contraptions later that night, and it's clear the baby is coming already. I'm sort of jealous about how easy this was for her. She never complained about any symptoms, unlike mine which were magnified. It only lasts about a day and a half, which is pretty unfair, too.
Macie and Jesse disappear into one of the rooms and the rest of us wait around anxiously for everything to be over. Well, Lucifer and I are anxious for it to be over. Everyone else just seems bored. It makes sense; it doesn't look like anything is going to happen. It's pretty quiet, no detectable problems. Still, I don't like this, and not just because the child of a god is being born.
Macie's scream breaks the silence. Lucifer and I share a look, unsure if we should go see what's wrong. When Jesse starts calling for help, we ultimately decide it's a yes. We hurry through the halls until we reach their room, but the door is locked. Suddenly, it opens, though there's no one standing there so I don't know if it's because of Lucifer or Jesse.
"She won't wake up," Jesse says nervously.
"What happened?" Lucifer demands.
"I-I don't know," Jesse says. "She just started screaming, and then she passed out."
Lucifer walks up to Macie, who's lying on the bed, and check for a pulse. He confirms that she's still alive, which is a relief. He places a hand over her chest, hovering just above her heart. A confused expression passes over his face.
"It doesn't look like there's anything wrong," he says.
"Then why'd she pass out?" Jesse asks.
"I don't know," Lucifer admits. "But I can't fix it because there isn't anything to fix."
"Well, what do we do?"
Lucifer shrugs. "I don't think there's anything we can do."
"But-" Jesse looks down at Macie, lying limp on the bed, almost like she's asleep. He takes her hand, then freezes for a moment. His fingers go to her wrist, a worried look on his face.
"What?" Lucifer asks immediately, taking her other wrist. "Dammit," he mutters under his breath.
"What's going on?" I ask.
"Her pulse is slowing down," Jesse tells me.
"But didn't you just take it?" I ask Lucifer, confused.
"Yeah. This is not a good sign. Um..." It's clear that Lucifer is beginning to panic, and he's not the only one. He says a word that rhymes with "duck" a few times under his breath. "I don't-I dont know what to do."
"Then get someone who does," Jesse replies, clearly trying to stay calm though the facade is easy to see through.
"I don't know anyone who does!" Lucifer says, not even trying to appear composed.
"Yes, you do," I tell him.
"Who?"
I raise an eyebrow but don't tell him, knowing he'll figure it out soon enough.
"No," Lucifer says. "I'm not asking him."
"You don't have a choice," I tell him. "He'll come for you. I guarantee it. You just have to ask." Seeing that he's not persuaded, I add, "We don't know what's going on. If you don't get him to help us right now, Macie could die."
Lucifer nods reluctantly. "Fine." He says something silently, so quick that I'm not surprised when God shows up and has no clue what's going on.
"Lucifer, I didn't expect-"
"Save the small talk," Lucifer interrupts. "What's happening to my daughter?"
God walks up to her, and Jesse and Lucifer step away. He places a hand over her heart just as Lucifer did before turning back to us.
"I've never seen this before," he admits. "Probably because I've never seen anything like he before."
"Well, can you fix her?" Lucifer asks.
God nods. "Probably. But you guys might want to leave."
"No, I'm not-" Lucifer says stubbornly, but stops when the three of us suddenly find ourselves outside the closed door to Macie and Jesse's room.
"Do you think he can do it?" I ask.
"Yes," Lucifer replies simply.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"How?"
"Because I know my father," Lucifer says. "He can do it."
A few minutes later, the sound of a baby crying is heard, followed by a person gasping for breath. The door opens, and Jesse, Lucifer and I start to go inside. God takes Lucifer's arm and leads him away. I give my boyfriend a questioning look, but Lucifer shakes his head, telling me not to go with him. Instead, I stand in the doorway to Macie's room, watching her and Jesse hold their new baby.
"It's a girl," Macie tells Jesse.
"She's beautiful," Jesse replies. "She must get it from you."
Macie smiles at him, and it seems the baby does, too. I feel like I'm intruding on their moment, so I quickly slip away, luckily avoiding Lucifer and God as I do. I return to the war room, where everyone starts asking questions at once. I answer them all, but I'm sort of out of it due to that frightening moment. No one seems to notice, though. As long as the baby is okay, it seems no one cares.
