A/N So I planned this a while ago and by planned I mean had a vague idea that stuff would happen but even as I write this A/N idk how this scene will end. Anyway, the point of this A/N is that I wrote this for my vocab quiz just to use the words randomly and the clauses we had to use and it ended up being so freaking weird that I'm like nope never doing anything like this ever again. If I can find the paper I might publishing separately but idk. Anyway, here's the actual story now that I've wasted 106 words.

It's been two months since Lucifer left. By now, everything is back to normal in the bunker. Gen seems to have replaced Lucifer in a way; she spends so much time with us, it's almost as if she's the new and improved Lucifer. We've actually become prettying good friends. She's a lot nicer than her character would make you think.
My phone vibrating snaps me out of this brief description of my life. I roll out of bed and grab it, glad I turned the brightness down before I went to bed. Plopping back down on the bed, I check who's bugging me at this ungodly hour. Oh, wait, it's almost eleven in the morning. Okay, I was up late with Gabriel — not like that — last night, and I'm tired.
I have to do a double take when I see it's a text from Ryan. Confused, I open it quickly.
Ryan: I need help on a case. You free?
I quickly type back a reply.
Bailey: Sure. What do you need?
There's a long pause as he types a response.
Ryan: The boys and I can't figure out what we're dealing with. It's got to be something that can teleport. It's been all over the world within hours. By the time we find it, it's usually gone. We caught it once, but it looks human, so that's no help. The second it saw us, it left, so we couldn't take care of it even if we knew how. We did manage to get a pic, but like I said, looks human, so that's no help. It's been terrorizing night clubs mostly, and people nearby for at least two weeks since we caught the case. Idk what the death tolls are, but it's high, probably mid hundreds. Any chance you're on the case? And if not, can one of your angel friends zap you over here?
Bailey: No clue. Can I see the pic? Maybe Gabriel will know.
Ryan: Just looks human. Won't help.
Bailey: Gabriel's an archangel. He might know.
Ryan: K hold on
I freeze when I see the picture. That's not... No, that's not possible. It can't be... Fuck.
Bailey: Gtg
Ryan: ?
"Gabriel?" I call, my voice shaking.
Immediately, the archangel is at my side. "What?" he asks quickly, sensing my obvious nervousness.
I show him the text wordlessly. Gabriel takes the phone and skims my conversations with Ryan, not at all phased by me texting my ex. Yet another perk of dating Gabriel instead of Lucifer.
Gabriel frowns. "Well, I guess we know what Lucifer's been up to," he mutters before tapping the phone a bunch of times. Though I should probably be at least a little wary of letting the Trickster use my phone, I don't really care. I look over his shoulder to see what he's typing.
Bailey: Drop the case
Ryan: What?
Bailey: Don't take the case. He can kill you with the snap of his fingers, and he won't hesitate to do so.
Ryan: What is it?
Bailey: Doesn't matter. We'll take care of it. Just tell me where he is.
Ryan: ... Detroit, Michigan
Bailey: Good. Now drop the case.
Gabriel hands my phone back. "Looks like we're going to Detroit."
I nod in agreement. "Looks like. But do we really want to? I mean, what are we planning on accomplishing? We can't kill him. Do you really think we can reason with him?"
"Nope," Gabriel admits. "But we've got to try."
Agreeing on this, we return to the war room. Macie and Jesse are playing Pictionary Man; Jared, Jensen, Misha, and Gen are chatting; and Osric and Ruth are chatting separately. The last two pause their conversation when we enter the room, but everyone else ignores us until Gabriel gets their attention.
"We found Lucifer."
Everyone's heads immediately snap over to him upon hearing that. Reactions are mixed on this; most, if not all of us are content living without him, and I'm sure many people here would rather he not return. Everyone seems ready to listen, though, so Gabriel continues.
"He's in Detroit, and he's apparently back to his 'murderfest' self. So, who wants to go smack some sense into him with me?"
No one moves.
"Okay, seriously?" Gabriel says, annoyed. "Guys, you know Lucifer. Someone's gotta stop him. And it's kinda our fault, so that someone should be us. So, anyone coming?"
*crickets*
"But I kinda want backup and Michael isn't here so you guys are the best I've got. Please? Like, Misha, you said you and him were friends, right?"
"Not really," he replies. "We get along, but I wouldn't say friends."
Gabriel frowns and looks around the room for someone who actually is friends with Lucifer. Finally, his gaze lands on Macie. "Can you come? Cuz at least then Lucifer can't kill me."
She looks up at Jesse lazily. "Worth it?"
"Probably," he replies.
Macie sighs and sits up. "'Kay. Ooh, Jesse, you should come, too!"
"I don't think that's a good idea..."
"Why not?" she asks.
"I think I've spoken to your father once, and it was not a very friendly conversation," he tells her. "I don't think me being there will do us any favors."
"Too bad. You're coming."
Jesse frowns, clearly not approving of the idea, but he can't argue with Macie, so he has to agree.
"Great," Gabriel says with a grin. "'Kay, let's go find Luci and hopefully not die in the process!"
