A/N I'm running out of ideas here...
"Lucifer!" Gabriel calls out when we return to the bunker. There's no response. "Luce, are you here?"
"Guess not," Macie mutters.
"Or he's ignoring me," Gabriel suggests.
"That would make sense, too," she agrees. "So, what? We find Alexis without him?"
Gabriel nods. "Yep, basically. I don't think we want to work with him right now, anyway. An angry Lucifer is not a fun Lucifer."
"Good to know. So, how are we supposed to find her?"
No one answers at first. There seems to be no easy way to do this. Then, an idea pops into my head. It could be bad, though. Even just saying it could cause problems. Still, I see no other way, so I might as well bring it up.
"We could call Michael down here," I suggest.
"Why?" Macie asks, confused.
And here goes the not so fun part. "Michael is her soulmate."
Macie groans. "Of course he is," she mutters. "Well, it can't hurt to have him help."
That was easy, I observe. Gabriel calls Michael through Angel Radio, and, after a few moments, Michael returns to his vessel.
"What?" he asks, sounding annoyed.
"We need you to go get Alexis," Gabriel explains.
"Where is she?"
Gabriel shrugs. "No clue. That's where you come in. Go find her, will ya?"
"Okay..." He pulls out a smart phone, earning confused looks from all of us. "What?" he asks defensively. "Just cuz I'm an angel, I can't have a phone?"
"You know what? You be you, Michael," Gabriel says with a laugh.
Michael calls Alexis, which is a very brief chat before he disappears without another word to us. We all wait for him to return, but a minute passes, then another, and another, and pretty soon it's been ten minutes and we've yet to hear back from him. Gabriel tries asking him again through Angel Radio, and a frustrated look appears on his face.
"Michael isn't bringing her back," Gabriel tells us. "She explained what happened, and Michael agrees with her. He doesn't think she should have to come back, so he's staying with her."
Macie groans in frustration. "That son of a bitch," she mutters. "So now what?"
Gabriel shrugs. "No clue. She'll be fine with Michael. Probably, at least."
"Should we try to find my dad now, then?" Macie asks.
"No, give him time to cool off," Gabriel advises. "It'll be better for all of us."
"So we just, what, hang out and do nothing?"
Gabriel nods. "Yep, pretty much."
"You know what's sad?" I muse when it falls silent again. "It's Christmas and we aren't doing any gift giving."
"Because anything you could ever want, the angels can just whip up for you," Jensen replies. "It kinda takes the fun out of it."
"Oh, true," I agree. "It's still kinda sad though. I mean, giving presents and family are the two big Christmas things, and we don't really have either." Well, I saw my family, but that was just a brief couple hours in which I mostly stayed with my friends.
"We have each other," Jensen observes. "That's good enough for me."
"Yeah, I guess..."
But it's really not. Not for me. I grew up seeing everyone I love on Christmas. Now, I'm spending my Christmas losing the one person I was sure would love me forever.~~
It turns out that when thy said filming started right after Christmas, they really did mean right after Christmas. Jared, Jensen, Misha, Mark Sheppard, and Ruth all leave early the next morning. They offer to let me come and show me what it's like filming an episode of Supernatural, seeing as I'll be joining them next week, but I decline. I'm not really in the mood to go sit around all day and do nothing.
Instead, I stay around with everyone that's left; Macie, Jesse, Osric, and Gabriel. Macie and Osric get into an argument over cats and dogs, which Jesse watches with an amused smile, leaving me alone with Gabriel. Of course. Because why wouldn't I be stuck with the one person whom I cannot have any sort of conversation with anymore? But I can't not talk to him, either, so I rack my brain for something to talk about.
It's Gabriel that breaks the silence. "It's so quiet without everyone else."
I nod. "Yeah, really."
And silence. Again. This time, I break it.
"Lucifer would make things less quiet. He's good at that."
Gabriel nods. "Definitely. I'm sure he'll be back soon, though."
"Does he usually leave for this long?" I ask as am attempt to keep the conversation going.
"Honestly, I don't even know who Lucifer is anymore," Gabriel admits. "He's, like, half nice and half a bitch."
"I've noticed," I reply.
Gabriel looks at me curiously but doesn't question it. This leaves us in yet another moment of awkward silence, and this time, neither of us know how to break it, so we don't.
