Wally wrapped his arms around Richard and pressed his lips against the other.
Having expected it, the younger responded eagerly.
They only parted when they realized they needed air.
Wally was the first to compose himself and he smiled warmly at the other. You could clearly see how smitten he was.
As he opened his mouth to say something, he was abruptly interupted.

*Earlier*
The team decided to spend their New Years with their family; M'Gann and Conner were spending it with each other, Kaldur went back to Atlantis, and Artemis was with her mother.
However, Alfred somehow convinced Bruce to invite the Allen-West family and the Queen family to a small New Years party at the park. Of course, they decided the get together would be in Central City, since Gotham was too dangerous to be in at night.
Surprisingly, no reporters came. Dick assumed it was because most were with their loved ones.
As Alfred made the food, (barbeque! Dick couldn't believe Alfred allowed such messy food!) Bruce set the table. (They were using a picnic table)
While the adults were talking, the teenagers (Roy would probably comment on how he was almost an adult) were in a discussion of their own.
"We should set off fireworks of our own!" Wally was saying.
Richard covered his mouth when a funny image of Wally came to his head. The speedster would most likely set something on fire.
Roy snorted. "There's a reason you were banned from getting some."
Wally was going to argue but the archer got up suddenly, after glancing down at his watch.
"I'm going to get a drink." As he turned to leave, he gave Wally a look.
Wally's ears turned pink.
He looked over at the boy beside him.
"Wanna see something cool?"
The ginger gently tugged the other's arm and the two went off.

Being the corny (shiz) person he is, Wally brought the smaller to a small clearing and pulled him over to an empty bench.
They were facing a clear lake.
The ward seemed to like the view and smiled over at Wally.
They weren't too far from the others, as they could hear them count down.
"5!"
"4!"
"3!"
"2!"
"1!"
Wally wrapped his arms around Richard and pressed his lips against the other.
Having expected it, the younger responded without hesitation.
They only parted when they realized they needed air.
Wally was the first to compose himself and he smiled warmly at the other. You could clearly see how smitten he was.
As he opened his mouth to say something, he was abruptly interupted.
"KABOOM!!"
Fireworks shot into the sky, one after another.
Wally must've been pouting a bit about being cut off (he was trying to be a bit corny but it's okay because he thinks he's smooth and apparentally he must be since the ebony still keeps him around) because he got another kiss, except shorter than before.
Seizing the moment, Wally leaned close to the other's ear and muttered, "Happy New Years."
The two stayed on that bench until they noticed there were less and less fireworks.
"We should get back before they realize we're gone," Dick signed.
Agreeing, Wally slipped his hand into the other's and the two walked back.

Roy sipped on his hot cocoa (he wasn't a big fan of the cold) and greeted them.
"Took you guys long enough. I was worried I'd have to go look for you two later."
Dick signed "sorry" though the look on his face was anything but that.
Wally only grinned sheepishly.
When the ward went off to get his own cup of cocoa, Wally elbowed Roy and said "I owe ya one."
"Five."
"What?"
"You owe me five. I'll make sure to remind you in the future."
"You keep track?!"
When Wally recieved no answer, he made a mental note not to say anything along the lines of "I owe you one" ever again.
Dick got back, linked his arm with Wally and, upon seeing the other's worried look, glanced at Roy.
The archer just shrugged and took another sip of his cocoa.

HAPPY NEW YEARS, EVERYONE!
For some, I know it's not 2017 yet but it's soon!
I hope the new year is better than this one.
Thanks again for all the continuous support on this story, even though I'm not as active as I used to be.
Edit: I had some errors publishing this chapter, so if anything doesn't make sense, please tell me!
