I looked out the window at the glowing light. It was way too familiar, not a good familiar a type of familiar that I would rather forget.

Fire

The word was burnt in my mind ever since a freak accident in the workshop back at Tanbarun. Tears were pricking the corner of my eyes as I ran downstairs to warn the other workmen in the area. The whole rose garden was on fire. The whole rose garden and my living quarters.

The fire was consuming the whole garden, I can't let it burn down the place, I have to do something! I rushed to the well and got a bucket of water, this will probably do nothing but I have to try. People are still asleep. I heard someone scream in their bedroom. it was the maid living next to me, she was trapped in her room.

I ran over to the wooden door which was on fire stopping her from escaping but I found that when I go to the room I was unable to move or speak. Fear had take full control over my body, I stepped back and tumbled over. I couldn't do anything to help her, her screams echoed through the whole castle and there was nothing I could do to stop them. I started to think back to past events and I was left staring at the fire in pure shock. I couldn't hear anything I could only see one thing and that was the orange blaze in front of me.

She was going to die and it was because of me. I will fear fire for all eternity and the fear will continue to control me for as long as I live. More and more people heard the noise and came to see, soon enough the whole castle went into panic. I was left alone staring at the burning door in front of me. Zen came and knelt down in front of me but I was still in shock, I couldn't hear anything he was saying.

He helped me up and handed me over to Mitsuhide who was by his side. He nodded to what ever Zen said and walked me far away from where the fire was, he walked me to wear Shirayuki, Ryuu and many others of the other palace workmen were residing. He mouthed some words and gave me a hug and ran off. This is pathetic I can't even say anything nor can I hear anything. Right now I'm just an empty canvas. Shirayuki sat me down and mouthed some more words. I was stuck in my own world, staring straight ahead of me, seeing the orange flames over and over again.

Before I knew it everything was black and I awoke up in the medical room which thankfully didn't burn down. I wasn't in shock any more obviously because I could see everything properly and hear perfectly fine. Victor was in his cage on the desk and Zen was asleep in the chair beside me. He stayed with me the whole night? He's so sweet, I started to feel really emotional and started to cry, it's all from last night occurrences.

Zen woke up and embraced me tightly. He let me cry into his chest for a good few minutes. I pulled away and smiled at him.

"Thanks, I really needed that" "I'm sorry for breaking down like that last night"

"You shouldn't apologise, it's normal for one to be scared in a situation like that"

"but I was completely useless I even had a bucket of water with me but I froze and couldn't use it" "I doubt the maid made it out alive" I clenched my fists.

"by the time we got her out she had inhaled too much smoke but she was the only casualty" Zen held me by my shoulders. "don't you dare blame yourself for her death" I took a deep breath and stood up walking out the door, lets see the damage that this inferno caused. As I opened the door I gasped and started to feel sympathetic toward Ryuu, Shirayuki. The whole garden was burnt to ashes. I looked around the corner to see that my room and several others have also been reduced to ash. Some of the bricks were still standing but they looked as if they would crumble with one touch.

It's exactly how my fathers workshop looked after it had been burnt to the ground. I re-built it though so it looks good as new back at Tanbarun there's no telling if it's still like that though this was after all no freak accident like the one years ago. This was aimed at me for sure, the fire started in my room and the garden I gather was set alight so it would attract attention or this could just be someone who started the fire in my room as a coincidence who was trying to upset the royalty of Clarines.

"It did a lot of damage but I'll be back to normal in now time" "We have Ryuu and Shirayuki here, they'll make the garden look the same again" "and palace workers can help rebuild the several rooms that were burnt down" Zen came up next to me and placed his hand on my should reassuringly just like he did the first day we had a proper talk in his office. How can he stay so positive in such a situation? He looked at me with a heart warming smile. "Everything is going to be just fine" I turned red. So this is what it feels like to be in love.
