Chapter 49

Emily's POV*

We pulled over and I waited for Liam to open the passenger door of the car and let me out. I was still blindfolded and didn't know what to expect. Liam opened the door and took my hand in his, I stepped slowly out of the car and he wrapped his arm around my waist to direct me to wherever we were going.

"Blindfolding a pregnant woman, smart move goof", I said as I nearly tripped over my own feet. I knew Liam wouldn't have let me fall or hurt myself but it was fun to tease him.

"Oh just shh", he laughed.

We continued walking for about a minute before we stopped and he stood behind me.

"Are you ready?" He asked and I could tell just from his voice that there was a huge smile on his face.

"Not really", I joked and he scoffed sarcastically as he undid the blindfold and let it fall to the floor.

My eyes filled with tears and I took in what was in front of me. We were in a field surrounded by trees and on the floor in front of me there was a picnic blanket with a wide variety of food in a large wicker basket. There were hundreds of battery powered fake candles surrounding the blanket and a big bag of which I had no idea what was inside. I turned around and wrapped my arms around him and he picked me up.

The first date Liam and I ever went on he took me to a field and we had a late night picnic with fake candles and I knew that was why he had done this tonight. He wanted us to relive that night. That was the night I knew I was in love with him.

"Is this okay?" he asked when I finally let go of him.

"This is perfect", I told him as we sat down on the blanket.

He clearly noticed me staring at the food and he laughed.

"Go on then", he said and I squealed with excitement as I noticed a packet of teacakes, something I had been desperately craving since I hit the three month point in the pregnancy. He knew me too well. I began eating and he reached behind him into the bag. The first thing he pulled was a grey item of clothing, he handed it to me and laughed as I looked at him with a puzzled expression. I unfolded the item of clothing and the tears formed in my eyes again. It was a grey hoodie with the superman logo on the front. It was pretty much the exact same one as the one he was wearing on our first date, I had got cold so he had given it to me to wear. I put the hoodie on and he grinned.

"I had to get quite a big one because of, well, you know", he gestured to my stomach and I laughed.

"You, Liam Payne, are the sweetest man in the world", I leant over to kiss him and he smiled.

"Well I do try", he boasted sarcastically as I popped another teacake in my mouth.

He reached into the bag again, this time pulling out a wrapped box. He handed it too me with a smile and I took it. I unwrapped the box and took off the lid to see three bracelets, the exact colour of the bridesmaids dresses each with a heart charm with the bridesmaids names engraved on them. He had actually bought these, the right colour and everything, I was impressed.

"I know it's I'm not really good at getting that sort of stuff but the boys helped me and I thought they would be nice to give to the girls to wear at the wedding", he sounded nervous, as if he wasn't sure I would like them.

"Liam they're perfect, I love them", I told him and pride appeared on his face. "You didn't have to do all of this though." I felt guilty that I hadn't got him anything, even though I had no idea what we were even doing tonight.

"I know I didn't, but you deserve it, so I did", he was so kind it was unbelievable.

"Thank you", I said and he shrugged still smiling.

We sat talking about our first date and how nervous we both were and laughed at various memories that we had shared before he pulled out yet another present. It was another wrapped box and I rolled my eyes as he gave it to me, he went through so much trouble for me and I was so lucky to have him. I unwrapped the box and cried for the third time tonight when I took the lid off. It was a silver bracelet with six charms on it, the first charm I saw was a picnic basket shaped one with the date of our first date engraved on it. I was surprised he even remembered the date.

"The boys insisted on having their own charms on there", he rolled his eyes and gestured to the bracelet.

I saw a guitar shaped charm with 'Niall' engraved on it, a mirror with 'Zayn' engraved on it, a pigeon with a tiny name tag saying Kevin on it with 'Louis engraved on the back and musical note with 'Harry' engraved on it. The final charm that I saw was two footprints with nothing engraved on it yet.

"I thought we could put the babies' birthday on that one", he said lifting the little charm with his finger.

"That would be nice, its beautiful Liam", I wrapped my arms around him and he pulled me onto his lap and kissed me all over my face making me laugh. He took the bracelet from my hand and put it on my wrist.

He pulled a bundle of blankets out of the bag and wrapped them round me when he saw me shivering and we laid down next to each other and just looked at the sky, talking for most of the night.

Liam's POV*

I loved seeing Emily this happy, and knowing that tonight I was the cause for her happiness was even better. She was laying next to me running her fingers through my hair and smiling. We had been here for hours now and I had no intention on leaving until she wanted to. It was so nice to be away from everyone and just be able to be alone with Emily. I didn't get to do that a lot while we were on tour so I wanted to make the most of tonight. I watched her and she talked and just thought about how lucky I am to have her and to have two babies on the way. She had loved her present and I was glad, it wasn't anywhere near as much as she deserved but I knew she liked the little things I did for her. I was so happy right now, just being here with her in the early hours of the morning, talking about the past six years of out lives and reminiscing about the time we've spent together. The best part was knowing that we had so many more years like this to come.
