Emily's POV*

I was unbelievably frustrated. I could hear things going on around me but I couldn't open my eyes or move. I was uncomfortable and achy and desperately wanted to move but as much as I tried I just couldn't muster up the strength to do it. I had no recollection of how I got in this state and I was pretty sure I didn't want to know. I could feel Liam holding my hand and I felt like people were watching me. I heard multiple voices, all talking about me. It was the boys and Eleanor.

"Shouldn't she be awake by now?" Harry questioned.

"I don't know, she's been unconscious for two days now", Liam responded.

The concern in their voices made me wish I could jump up out of the bed and tell them I was okay so that they'd stop worrying about me. They spent too much time doing that already.

In the end I gave up on trying to move as it had so far been unsuccessful and I was worn out from just thinking. I felt so weak and incapable. It was like my brain was working but nothing else was, like I was dreaming. I could feel myself slowly loosing consciousness again and before I knew it everything had gone silent and my thoughts went quiet.

Liam's POV*

They boys and Eleanor had gone home last night but had come back this morning to see how Emily was. She had been unconscious all day again today and I was getting more worried with every hour that passed. The others had all tried to convince me to go home and get showered and change my clothes but I had to be there when she woke up. The doctors and nurses had been in and out all day, and I could tell that they were getting worried, they knew she should have woken up by now. Everyone that was here was trying to put on a brave face, especially the boys, but it was obvious that we were all scared and worried for Emily. As far as we were aware, she had no idea what was going on, she didn't know what had happened.

I looked around the room and saw that we were all just staring at her, waiting. We had grown used to the occasional sound of the door opening and a member of staff coming in, running tests, and then leaving. Considering the situation, Emily looked so peaceful and calm, just laying on the bed, not moving, no emotion on her face, just there. Her hair was sprawled out across the white pillow that was underneath her head, her arms were by her sides and her mouth was open slightly. If it wasn't for the large number of tubes and wires attaching her to machines, she would look like she was simply sleeping, but we all knew it was more than just sleeping.

I picked up her hand and held it in mine, placing a kiss on the back of it, just under her knuckles. She felt strangely warm and alive when she looked the complete opposite.

As I went to place her hand back on the bed I heard a small cough escape her lips and we all looked up at her quicker than ever. Her eyelids were fluttering and her fingers were now clasped round mine. She was awake.

"Hey", she said, a small smile spreading on her face. Her voice was quiet and weak but that didn't matter.

"Hey", was all I said back.

"The guys are right, you really need a shower", she joked. She had just woken up from being unconscious for two days and she was being humorous?

"Thanks Em", I joked back, making her smile grow.

"I'll go get a doctor", Zayn said and he left the room.

"I've missed you", I told her, an involuntary tear rolling down my cheek.

"Well I'm back now aren't I, and I'm not going anywhere".
