"Good morning Hachiko-senapi!"
"Hi Hachiko-San!"
People waved at me as I walked down the hallway. I did the polite thing and plastered the most real looking smile on my face and waved at people as I walked by, calling out the occasional hello to those I knew. It was the first day, Friday morning bright and early, and already I was back into the limelight. So I did the best I could to be grateful for the support of my classmates.
All the attention, everyone knowing who I was, was all because of a that goal during a play off game. Who knows if anything after it has made such a huge impact with them.
I quickly made my way into my classroom, room 3-1. I opened the door, waving at a few people who had called my name before I quickly shut the door behind me.
I let out a small sigh and a relaxed smile spread onto my face as I made my way to my desk in the back left corner of the room which wasn't far from the door.
I casually was able to walk over to my seat and slowly sat down. I pulled my bag down from my shoulder and set it down on my desk. I opened up the front most pocket, pulling my phone from my purse and opening up my twitter dms as I plugged my headphones in.
I had about ten minutes until people began to head into their classrooms. This was the only peace I'd get during the school day and I wanted to enjoy it.
Suddenly I heard the screaming that started to grow closer and closer. I let out a small sigh as I shook my head. Girls are crazy. And I knew some guys were involved in it too. So I changed the statement in my head to 'people are crazy'.
I focused on my dms and replied to a couple messages from my friends from other countries that I was in a group chat with and retweeted and liked some posts before I closed the app down.
'I need some music. I just need to listen to some for a couple minutes.'
I opened up my music app but before I could turn it on the door slid open and immediately shut again with a soft but strong bang.
I let out a sigh. 'Looks like I spoke too soon.' I thought.
I removed my headphones and turned around in my seat to face the back of the room, looking to see a tall brunette standing in the doorway to my classroom. He was hunched forward, leaning against the door for support. It looked like he was looking at the silhouettes on the other side.
Well, he's a weird guy. You can never figure out what's going on in his head. "Good morning Oikawa-san!" Oikawa turned around, obviously shocked.
His earthly brown eyes were wide with surprise but sparkled just as they always did. His bouncy brown hair fell slightly into his eyes. His hair was in tighter ringlets and poofier then it usually was.
'Maybe a mishap with the hair styling this morning?'
I inwardly chuckled as I thought of him out of hair gel or his hair dryer had exploded so his hair air dried and dried funny because of the humidity.
His spine suddenly straightened and he had returned to his normal towering height. "Have you forgotten which room you belong to again?" I genuinely smiled and let out a small giggle.
He did this a lot lately. I saw him walking back into the building after he meant to head towards the gym. He seemed really in his own head and couldn't seem to put the pieces of the world around him back into place. I only really began to see him around when our training began over the summer for our upcoming seasons.
But he was the volleyball teams captain this year. It could just be the pressure of him wanting to stay on his A game and give his team the best. Plus I think he really wanted to beat Ushijima Wakatoshi.
Oikawa let out a soft chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck with his right hand. "Gomen'nasai Miyumi-chan! I know you like you're private time in the morning."
I rolled my eyes. Chan, it's always been chan. "Don't worry too much Oikawa-San. But can you use my last name preferably, and maybe drop the chan."
"Okay Hachiko!" He said as he held up a peace sign and had the goofiest grin on his face.
"Honorifics Oikawa-kun!" I exclaimed.
"Don't worry Miyumi-Chan! I'll remember for next time!" I went to cut him off when he pulled the door open. I heard the fangirls in the hallway let out their squeals of delight. I did everything I could to stop myself from rolling my eyes.
"Oikawa-chan!" A girl scream whined. "Come and talk to me before class starts!"
"What about me Oikawa-Kun! I want to talk to you too!"
More joined in and i just inwardly groaned. 'Those girls are crazy.'
I knew they were probably nice girls but fangirling over a normal high school guy with amazing volleyball skills and lower then average other skills didn't mean that it was okay. He's normal!
"See you later Miyumi-Chan!" The door was suddenly closed once more and the he was gone. But I knew he was still there because the call of the wild fangirl.
I let out a sigh and went to put my headphones back in and listen to my music when the doors opened again, but this time my classmates had begun to file into the room. I let out another sigh as I closed out of my music before shutting my phone down and putting it back into my purse.
Immediately people spotted me, just like they always did, and began, to once again, greet me. "Good morning!"
"Good morning!" I replied with a small smile and a wave.
Looks like I didn't start the day off quietly after all.
And why does he always have to use chan?
