I had been accepted onto the soccer team but it was like she reluctantly put me onto the team. Our first game was today and from the past days of practices, which of course were the first, I knew the coach didn't like me.

Sensei was right.

I changed into my uniform and made my way out to the field. My bag was strapped tightly to my back and I clutched desperately to the straps. I walked over to the bench and set my bag down.

I was the first one out on the field. I had changed ridiculously early to come out and warm up.

I wanted this woman to understand that I took my job as captain seriously.

I unzipped my bag and took out my soccer ball and began to dribble up and down the field. When I was done I started shooting on net.

At this point the sun was beating down on me. It felt hotter out then it had a few minutes before. I stopped and walked over to my bag which sat underneath the metal bench.

I sat down and reached under, sliding my bag from underneath. I unzipped the main pocket and went to pull out out my water bottle. It felt lighter then usual.

When I pulled it from my bag I realized, to my dismay, it was empty.

I let out a groan as I threw the bottle to the ground a few feet away. I leaned forward, placing my head in my hands.

'Pull it together. You can't let the other team, let alone your own see you broken and stressed like this.' I took a few deep breathes before standing up and going to the center of the field to do some calm stretches.

Some of the girls began to make their way out of the building and I plastered a smile on my face and waved to them as they came out. They all dropped their things off by the bench before coming over to me. We talked as we waited for a few stragglers before getting started with our warm ups.

When our new Coach came out I could see her shock as I led the stretches.

"Did you all warm up yet?" She asked, looking very judgmental at me.

"Of course Sensei." She nodded as she made her way over to the bench with her bag. I watched as we continued to stretch and saw her pull out a clip board with a large pile of papers attached to it.

'Oh great.'

The stands began to fill up little by little. A couple minutes before the game I turned around and saw most of the seats were filled. I turned away and looked out at my team. Captains had already been called and I had won us the ball but I had given it to the other team so we could take it in the second half. Now the girls just needed to be ready to take the ball from them.

"Alright girls are we ready?"

"Yes Senpai!" From the younger girls with a "Yes Hachiko" from the rest as they answered in unison.

I smiled and nodded. "We're ready for you sensei." She nodded, looking dissatisfied.

She started to go through our line up, rattling off names. I listened carefully, waiting for my name to be called. But she never did. She finished calling the line up and tapping her pen against her clip board.
