"Miyumi-Chan!"
In the library I turned and glared at the loud Oikawa Tooru running towards me. 'Great the one person I wanted to avoid for these last few days.' I took a deep breath to steady myself. I was more worried than angry, but of course when you do not know how to react to something, anger and annoyance are always the first to appear to any party.
"This is a library Oikawa-San. You need to be quiet." I whispered as he sat down across from me. He looked disappointed but tried his best to mask the hurt in his features.
"I know but I haven't seen you all day and after the crazy situation yesterday morning and the fiasco last night I wanted to make sure you were okay." He smiled and tilted his head as he looked at me, almost like a lost puppy looking to his owner for praise.
I felt my face warm. 'More like after you saw me in a towel when you ran into the girls locker room and then later the same day you proceeded to carry me home from dehydration. Yeah its been a great two days hasn't it Miyumi?'
"I'm fine thank you. Just some terrible prank is all. And just some complete forgetfulness on my part." I picked my pencil back up and began to write more detail for my biology packet before finally flipping to next page.
"You're not fine Miyumi-Chan! I know it." I narrowed my eyes at him and he chuckled quietly, remembering once again exactly where he was at this given moment. "Gomen'nasai. I keep forgetting to be quiet." He whispered as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck.
"Seriously I'm-" he cut me off by reaching across the table and placing his hand over mine. I looked up and met his chocolate brown eyes, completely serious and calculating as he looked at me.
"I know something else is going on." His eyes looked pleading, hoping that I would share something, anything to help him understand what was wrong.
I couldn't tell him.
At that moment I had ample opportunity to tell him, to let him know that I would no longer be going here and seeing him everyday. No more late nights in the gym. No more walking home together. No more anything.
He would be broken when he heard where I was going. He would see it as me switching sides and going to Shiritorizawa academy, turning against him and siding with his enemy.
'He was never going to speak to me again once he found out, was he?'
At that moment I couldn't do it. I knew I had to, I should but I couldn't get the words in my mouth to form.
I smiled and shook my head. "Really it's nothing. You're jut reading into something that's not there." I pulled my hand back from his and got back to work.
I saw him from the corner of my eye look down, not convinced.
I felt my heart breaking. I looked up and saw him looking down at his lap where his fingers were laced together. His hair was falling over his eyes and he looked confused, withdrawn.
I couldn't take it anymore. I felt my heart breaking at the sight of him. And so, I packed up my things. It was time to run home and hide until my final days were up and the day of my transfer was upon us.
Oikawa looked up at me shocked and confused. I closed my bag and without looking at him I walked out the door. I heard footsteps behind me but I kept walking. The footsteps quickened and I felt my heart racing and my hands beginning to shake. I gripped the straps of my bag tighter and my pace quickened. I went to my locker and just about threw it open.
I grabbed my shoes and switched them, throwing my school ones back into my locker. I slammed the door shut and locked it before turning to leave, ready to run when a hand grabbed mine. I froze. I knew that hand.
