Brandon's POV:
I wake up with Callie next to me and smile at her sleeping peacefully. I kiss her forehead and get out of my bed. She stirs a little so I put my pillow next to her and she hugs it to her. I laugh to myself at how adorable she is. I grab my phone and take a picture of her smiling in her sleep. I sling my towel over my shoulder and head to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I take a quick shower and brush my teeth and then head back to my room to get dressed.
Callie is still asleep when I walk in. I get dressed in a gray t-shirt and jeans. I sit on my piano bench with my headphones on and play the song that I wrote for Callie before she was adopted by the Armstrongs. I won't get much piano playing in at boot camp, so I might as well get as much in as I can before I leave.
After a while of playing, I feel someone wrap their arms around my shoulders from behind me. "Why don't you play for me?" Callie asks. I smile and turn around.
"Okay, sit next to me." I unplug my headphones and play the song that I wrote forever ago for her. She leans her head on my shoulder and listens as I play, humming along with it.
"I love listening to you play the piano." She says when I'm finished.
"Why don't you grab your guitar, it's in the closet. We could do a duet." She smiles and nods and walks to the closet. She decided to bring the guitar that I gave back here after Helen bought her another one. She sits down in the chair next to the bench and starts to strum a melody. I listen for a minute and then start tapping at the keys.
Callie's stomach growls and I laugh. "Hungry?"
Her cheeks blush a rosy pink. "Yeah."
"Then let's go downstairs." I stand up and take her hand. We walk to the kitchen where moms are making waffles, bacon, eggs, and toast. "Morning."
They turn around. "Oh good morning you two."
"You guys are going a little overboard with breakfast don't you think?" I ask.
"Well we just wanted to make sure you have all of your favorites before you leave today." Mom (Lena) says. I glance at Callie and the smile that was previously on her face disappears in an instant. She lets go of my hand and walks to the refrigerator.
I sigh, but fake a smile for their sake. "Thanks moms. You didn't have to do that, but I appreciate it."
"No problem, B, we were happy to do it. I'm gonna miss you so much."
Callie slams the fridge door shut grabs a piece of bacon and walks out of the kitchen. "I'm gonna go get dressed."
I throw my head back and groan. "Sorry. Callie's uh- Callie's having a hard time with all of this. You know Ty is coming with me. She's just sad, she's not angry with you guys, she's angry with us."
"We understand."
"I'm gonna go talk to her. I'll be right back." I walk up the stair and into my room. Callie was just slipping her shirt over her head when I walked into my room. "Callie-"
"I should go home. Say bye to Ty before he leaves." She says, not looking at me.
"Callie," I say in a stern voice, "stop."
"Stop what Brandon? I need to say goodbye to my brother before he leaves."
I groan. "You will, but will you talk to me first? Moms think that you're mad at them. Callie I've apologized more than once, I don't know what you want from me."
"Nothing, Brandon, I want nothing from you. I want to fast forward and get married and then fast forward again until you get home safe and sound, that's what I want Brandon, but it's the thing you can't give me. So, I'm going to suck it up and pull through, like I always have and always will. I love you B, but this is one thing you can't fix for me."
