Brandon's POV:

We are in the car on our way to the hospital when Callie passes out in my arms. "Callie? Callie!" I yell. "She's out cold. Go faster," I tell Ty.

"I'm going as fast as I can. It won't help Callie if we get pulled over." He states. He has a point there, but all rational thoughts go out the window when Callie is in danger.

I can't help but wonder why Liam was there. How did he know where she moved? Why now? "Do you know Liam?" I ask Ty.

"Yeah. He's my cousin." He answers, then he adds, "I didn't know that he would even go near Callie. I swear, I've never seen that side of him."

I snort. "That's the only side I've ever seen of him."

"How do you know him?"

"He used to be Callie's foster brother. He got her and Jude kicked out of the house and he won't leave Callie alone." Understatement I know, but Callie would kill me if I told Ty the whole story.

"You know Callie wouldn't even protect herself when he was kicking her. She didn't even move. What happened to her? She used to be the kind of person that wouldn't let anyone mess with her or the people she loves. Now, all I see is an empty shell. Likes here, but she's really not."

"I can't tell you all of what happened because it's not my place, but what I can tell you is that this is all Liam's fault. He did this to her." Then the car went silent until we got to the hospital.

"I'll go park the car, you get her in there and text me what room she's in." Ty says.

"Okay." I slip out of the car, never letting go of Callie, and run through the doors of the emergency room doors. I run up to the desk. "My girl friend got beat up and passed out on our way here. Please help me." I say with my voice shaking.

"What happened?" The nurse asks.

"Her ex-boyfriend came to her house and started beating her up. Her step brother is the one that got the guy off of her. Then I came over to check on her because she had been sick and I saw her and the two guys fighting. I called the police. Callie seemed fine, but then she just started feeling pain on her right side and the whole right side of her torso is black and blue. She passed out from the pain in the car ride here." I tell her in a rush.

"Okay. Calm down." How the hell can I calm down? I'm holding the lifeless body of the love of my life in my arms and you won't stop asking me dumb questions!

"I am as calm as I'm going to get at the moment." I state matter of factly.

"Fine. Lay her on that bed and I'll page a doctor." I do as I'm told and hold Callie's hand with one of mine while I text moms and then Ty.

Soon Ty is on the other side of Callie and moms are rushing through the door with Jude and the twins. "What happened? She was fine when I left. What did the doctor say?" Mom (Stef) questions.

"I asked her if she was hurt and she pointed to her side and I looked and her rip cage was completely bruised so we got in the car to come here and she passed out from the pain. The doctor thinks that she has a few broken ribs, but they don't really know anything besides that. She woke up for a couple of minutes, but then blacked out again." I tell them.

Then the doctor walks over to us. "Hello I'm Dr. Thomas. You are Callie Jacobs' family?" we all nod our heads. "Okay, so she is going to be okay. She has three broken ribs and two bruised. If we wake her up and keep her conscious, she can go home tonight. I will write her a proscription for pain killers and we have already wrapped her rips." he says and then walks to another family.

Jude sits on her bed and strokes her brown hair. "Callie. Wake up. Please?" he whispers. Her eyes flutter open like she knows that her little brother needs her and just like that she comes out of her problems and into protective mode. I'm glad he was able to wake her up because I'm really worried about her.

"Hey Jude. Haven't seen you in a while." She says with a sad smile. "Sorry about that."

"It's okay." he says. Then he leans down and whispers in her ear, "did Liam do this?" God that kid is good. You can't get anything past him. Callie nods slowly.

Then all of moms' questions start rolling in. I take this as a time to leave them to talk to Callie while all of us kids leave them alone to talk, even though I don't want to leave her side I know I have to, at least for a little while.
