Ivan wished that Elisha would take this damned gag out of his mouth. He also wished he had some painkillers. And something to stop the bleeding in his leg would be nice, too. In fact, he was feeling a bit light-headed...Weary, he closed his blue eyes.
"Vanya!" Dimitri cried. "Stay awake!"
Ivan opened his eyes again and shifted in the chair, only to discover that any sudden movement caused an ungodly flourish of pain in his leg. He grimaced and bit back a yelp.
Dimitri, in his panic, seemed to be getting irritated. "So what the hell else do you need to know?"
"Nothing," Elisha shrugged casually. "But, Dimitri, I'm afraid there's something you don't know."
Dimitri furrowed his brow.
"About Ivan." Elisha offered a smirk. "You might want to do a bit of research; see what turns up."
Ivan froze, shuddering. He had a few questions.
1. How did Elisha know?
2. Who had told him, or was this information accessible by default?
3. If Dimitri did his research, would he leave?
4. Those records were supposed to have been destroyed- had they been?
5. Had Elisha just ruined Ivan's life?
Ivan gave a cynical grin behind the gag. He could answer that one for himself. The answer was yes.
