Ivan woke up back in his office at Lubyanka. His leg was covered in blood, and a fiery pain enveloped it. He resisted the all-powerful urge to sit back in his chair and shut his eyes.
"Vanya!" called a voice that he instantly recognized.
Dimitri threw open the office door and picked Ivan up out of his chair, kissing him several times on the cheek. "Are you okay?"
Ivan shook his head. "I feel dead."
"I'll take you home," Dimitri said, "fix your leg up and all. You're gonna be alright, just stay awake."
Ivan nodded wearily. "Are they really gonna try us for treason?"
Dimitri shrugged. "I'm not sure, Vanya. Don't worry so much about it right now, though. President Ravil's on our side. I'll explain in the car. Let's get out of here."
