Chapter 32

Artem met Leopold in the library. 

"What's going on, if you don't mind?" Leopold queried. 

"He's freaking out," Artem explained to the best of his ability. "He says he's killed people." 

Leopold's eyes widened slightly, and he handed Artem the manual, which was stamped with the FSB's insignia. It also happened to be several hundred pages thick. Artem gaped. 

"I can't read all this!" Artem protested. "What do-" 

"Listen, Artem." Leopold's tone was grave. "Ravil is responsible for, or has been responsible for quite a few assassinations over the years. He has killed people." 

"W-what if he kills me?" Artem stammered.

"He won't. Slooshat, listen," Leopold replied. "You need to ground him; get him calm. You've got to take him and put him back into reality. Hold his hand, talk to him, get him to count to twenty, then count down again. Repeat it a couple times. It's the default reset protocol." 

Default reset protocol? Is he supposed to be a machine or something...? Artem thought. Then he spoke. "Russian or English?"

"Doesn't matter. Whatever he's more comfortable with," Leopold replied. "Let's go."
