Artem had since left Ravil's office and was now sitting out in one of the gardens. In the distance, he could see the church where Ravil and Alina had been buried. He blinked and pulled his eyes away, trying to think of something else, but not to much avail.
His soul told him that something was wrong. Terribly wrong. He closed his eyes, drawing back to dwell in a realm of thought.
This is what Ravil would do, Artem told himself. He would stop and think and be logical.
Artem thought. He thought of the people involved with the Kremlin, he thought about who could've done this. Who had such free reign in the Kremlin? Who could've killed Ravil? If Ravil was dead, it had to have been a murder. It had to have something to do with his history with the FSB. They had to be lying to him. It was murder- Artem was utterly convinced on that much.
Murder, then. Who could've murdered Ravil?
Artem's eyes flew open, and his blood turned icy.
Leopold.
It all made sense. It had to be Leopold!
Artem kept thinking. He had to confront Leopold. But was it safe to do so?
He texted the squad of FSO officers he'd had in the Kremlin ever since Ravil had grown suspicious of Leopold.
All of you, Artem typed. Escort Leopold to the Taynitsky Gardens.
