Can we please have this series made into a movie?

"Mission report."

Ravil blinked and stared up at the tall blond-haired man. "Verification required."

"Dimitri Bocharov," said the blond man, flashing an ID. "FSB sergeant."

"Verified," Ravil answered. "Specify date for mission report."

"All dates," said Dimitri.

Ravil flinched and began to rattle off a list of dates, along with the missions assigned to them. He'd killed prominent figures, poisoned journalists who had gotten a bit too close to the truth, and those had all just been tests. With every report, his grip on reality faltered, and he felt as if he was surely going insane altogether.

He arrived at the end of the mission report, mentioning his assignment to take on a new identity as American citizen Ravil Galkin, to sabotage the Department of Defense, to kill Artem.

Artem? Who was Artem?

No! This was important. Artem, this name, disconnected from a face, was important! He had to remember, had to...

Artem...?

"What's it like knowing that you're responsible for the deaths of innocent people?" Dimitri asked.

Ravil did not answer. One half of his mind pushed him to question the reality of that query. Had those people, those leaders, those journalists...had they really been innocent?

"You're a murderer, Ravil."

Ravil did not hear his name. He only hear his patronymic. Myronovich, Myronovich, Myronovich...Surely he was not Ravil, he was Myronovich...

"You're a murderer. That's all you are. A monster."

Ravil lifted his dark viridian gaze. "Shut the hell up."

Dimitri frowned before tossing Ravil against the wall, knocking the breath out of him. Ravil staggered to his feet, and the blond man revealed a gun, cocking it.

Ravil cackled. "You're scared of me, eh?"

"Why would I be scared of a useless pawn like you?" Dimitri retorted sharply. "I could kill you, and no one would bat an eye. As far as the public knows, you're already in the grave."

"People have been telling me that for years," Ravil growled. "They can talk- sure, but will they ever do anything to back up their words? Never."

"I'm different." Dimitri shifted slightly, but kept the gun aimed.

"No, you're not. You've got me here for some reason. If you wanted me dead, I would've been killed long ago." Ravil cracked a smirk. "So, what are you devils planning? Another assassination?"

Dimitri said nothing, only fixed Ravil with a frigid blue stare.

Ravil sat down against the wall and cackled again. "See? You won't kill me." He crossed his arms and muttered under his breath, adding, "You're all just a bunch of damn jokes."

Dimitri almost seemed to flinch. Ravil smirked, glasses flashing. He was right. They'd never admit it, but he was right.

"What are you gonna do now?" Ravil sneered. "Leave and come back three days later acting like this never happened?"

Dimitri glowered at him, then left the room, shutting the door behind him. Ravil heard him say something from beyond the walls of the cell.

"Wipe his memory."
