*smut warning* lmao I don't even need this, this book itself is a whole warning.
Lauren
The fact Dinah walked into my life so easily frightened me just as much as I loved it because she was here, and she was okay. I don't think I could ever get over the fact I had hurt her so badly and she knew that. I cried in her arms for an hour about it but she promised that it was okay and everything was fine. I however, was still clinging to the memory of her body falling to the ground in front of me.
"How?" I asked the simple word, looking to Dinah who was sitting in a chair. Her gaze found mine and she smiled softly.
"When you shot me, I passed out from blood loss but since you kept holding my gut it put enough pressure on to save some of the blood. My men were able to get me to the hospital in time where they brought me back." She explained, closing the book in her hands. "So I guess technically, I was dead."
We exchanged no words after that but she still watched me, seeming to guard me with her brown eyes. It was silent, the nurses only coming to check on me and the baby every once in awhile but when the door opened and a familiar agent walked in, he looked worried.
"Ma'am, Michael and Clara Jauregui request permission to see their daughter." My eyes widened and I smiled, looking at Dinah hopefully. Her eyes were already saying no but when she looked at me, a short sigh was released from her.
"Granted." She smiled and nodded before my mother and father walked into the room.
"Lauren!" My father exclaimed, coming up to me and leaning down, hugging me and my baby softly before moving over for my mother who kissed both my cheeks and little Dinah's head.
"It's so good to see you hija," she spoke and I nodded, muttering a quiet, you too. "Oh, she's so beautiful." My mom was already taking Dinah out of my arms before I could protest and I felt my wife tense next to me as my mother cooed over the baby.
"Oh Clara, don't steal the child for heavens sake," my father complained as he reached for the child but my mother was laughing, placing a kiss on my dad's cheek before passing the child to him.
It was strange to see them like this.
"Wait, are you guys back together?" My hand found its way to Dinah's as I looked at my parents, each of them casting a glance to each other.
"Yes. I move back next week." My mom nodded and my eyes widened.
"After the incident, I called her and I don't know, things led to another." My father smiled at my mom, baby Dinah starting to cry in his arms. He frowned and I bit my lip, confused as to why she was crying. When I was a baby, my father was the only person who could calm me.
"Shh, it's okay." He tried to calm her but baby Dinah wasn't having any of it as she cried, tears streaming down her face. My dad looked up, his eyes flickering from all of us back to the baby before holding her out to me.
"No, it's fine. I'll take her," my wife finally spoke up, rising from her chair and smiling kindly at my father. Dinah seemed like a whole different person and it was slightly worrying me. She was kind and polite and I didn't know but I had a feeling it was just her waking up to reality for a fresh start.
My dad looked at her skeptically but he set the baby down in Dinah's arms, taking a step back to see what would happen. Our baby quieted almost immediately, looking up at Dinah with sleepy eyes.
