Dinah

We had won the war.

We had actually done it, we had won the war and I was happier than ever. Malik and Doritol's gangs were taken down and pressed for their crimes against my mob. None went unpunished.

Tonight, we celebrated.

It would be a ball to celebrate the victory with a feast and a dance. It would be perfect and I couldn't wait to bring Mariah with me.

She had been amazing lately, taking care of baby Dinah and helping me out with work. I had completely forgotten Lauren to be honest. I guessed the future just had its own plans for me.

I was standing in the middle of the ballroom, looking around as men set up the tables and chairs.

Everything looked absolutely beautiful and I couldn't wait.

We were safe at last.

"Mama!!!" A little voice squealed and I smiled as I turned around, Dinah Jr. running across the room to me. Her lips were spread in a large grin as I smiled, crouching down and opening my arms.

She practically leapt into them as I spun her around, smiling as she giggled. "Hi baby," I greeted her and looked up to see Mariah smiling, walking across the room to me and Dinah Jr. "And hello to you babe," I said as I leaned over, kissing her cheek softly as Dinah Jr. laughed and covered her eyes.

"Ewwwww!!!" She exclaimed making us laugh before I set her down and she went to run around. I turned to Mariah and embraced her gently, kissing her softly.

"How are you?" I asked against her lips, smiling as she rolled her eyes and pushed me away gently.

"Good. How's the set up going?"

"Great, it's going to look beautiful." I continued looking around, making sure everything was in place as little Dinah ran around the room singing a song loudly.

"Ooh! Piano!" She shouted and I chuckled at my daughter as she sprinted to the stage and climbed upon the platform, padding over to the electric keyboard.

When she realized she couldn't reach, she pouted and looked around, her eyes landing on a man setting up a table. Her eyes seemed to spark with something as she took her binky out of her mouth and went to the man.

She crossed her arms and glared at him, the look reminding me too much of Lauren. "Hey you!" She shouted and Mariah and I watched in amusement as he flinched and turned to look at the one year old.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Put piano on ground!" She exclaimed, pushing the pacifier back into her mouth and pointing at the keyboard.

The man chuckled lightly and nodded, walking over to the keyboard and removing it from its stand. He was careful as he set it down and turned it on.

She plopped down on the stage and tapped the keys, pretending to play a song as she looked down at the keys. Her eyebrows pushed together in concentration and I could've swore it was like Lauren was there, trying to figure out a new piece she had just gotten.

"Okay, that's enough Dinah." I stopped her abruptly, my thoughts of Lauren trying to betray my heart. "Let's go get some lunch."

Her eyes lit up and she ran to me, holding up her arms to be picked up.

I smiled and picked her up before intertwining my fingers with Mariah's and leaving the building.

-

The party was going great, that was, until Dinah Junior screamed mommy and she wasn't talking about me.

At first I had thought she was talking about Mariah but when I turned and saw Lauren standing across the room, her eyes wide and panicked, all blood drained from my face.

"Mommy!!!" Little Dinah screamed and took off across the dance floor, the whole room becoming silent as people made a path for my daughter.

I couldn't believe this.

She was awake, she was here and alive. She was really here.

My eyes were wide as I stared at her, her eyes boring right back to mine.

I didn't know she had awakened.

"Who's that?" Mariah asked quietly, her hand wrapping around my arm.

I was silent as little Dinah got to Lauren and was swept up into my wife's arms, her eyes happy as she hugged and kissed our child.

"Lauren," I whispered and put my hand over Mariah's.

The girl with the green eyes looked up and when her eyes met mine, they turned furious as did mine when I saw who was next to her.

Camila was standing next to her, her expression frightened as she looked around.

"Mommy! I missed you!" How had Dinah Junior remembered Lauren? I had no idea.

Lauren didn't answer as she held Dinah protectively and I made my move, starting to walk towards her with Mariah and before I knew it she was leaping forward.

I was knocked off my feet as Lauren tackled Mariah after setting Dinah down.

"No! Lauren!" Camila shouted and the crowd started to become more agitated and talkative as my wife beat my girl friend up.

"Lauren! Let go!" I yelled as I tried to pull her off of Mariah who was fighting back.

Her fists pounded into Mariah's face as she yelled at her, something about taking her family away.

People crowded around us as I tried to pull Lauren off of Mariah who's nose was already bleeding heavily.

"Get off me you slut!" Mariah yelled and I winced at that as I pulled Lauren from her.

The green eyes girl cried as I lifted her up, her arms still trying to reach for Mariah's throat. "I'm sorry for the interruption. Please, continue eating. The dances will start soon," i spoke loudly and stood up, carrying Lauren outside the building. She was crying hysterically which broke my heart.

"Lauren, calm down, come on. Calm down," I pleaded and she started to take deep breaths as I waited. I didn't even know how to address this situation. She had came here and attacked my girlfriend. Why?

"Okay, see, everything is al-" I couldn't finish because her lips were slamming into mine softly as she cried silently.

"No, no, no. Lauren, we're not together anymore," I whispered as I pulled away, dreading the emotion I saw in her eyes. There was hate, anger, and sadness all swirling together to make her green eyes pale.

"But I'm your wife."

"No, Lauren." I shook my head and she stared at me in horror as she backed away.

"How could you do this to me? I love you! I was in damn a coma because of you!" She shouted and though I knew it was true I tried to stay strong against her words. "A year Dinah. That's how long I was in a coma. You know, I couldn't remember you?" Before she could keep going I cut her off.

"You couldn't remember me?"

"No, after you stopped coming, my memories of you faded away. And maybe that was for the best since you don't love me anymore," she spoke and it was as if she had just taken a hammer to my chest and shattered my heart.

"No-"

"You were mine," she whispered, looking down at the blood on her hands. "You were mine. You are my wife. But I was obviously just an object. Just like I've always been. You got bored without me around and decided to throw me in the trash."

"Lauren. Please, that's no-"

"Oh save it Dinah. Go back inside and enjoy this night with your girlfriend. You don't care about me, and you never will. So just go."

The words echoed in my head.

Just go.
