Lauren
Days passed, at least, that was what I could tell from the times Camila and my parents visited me. Normai and Ally had started visiting me, the war finally starting to calm down which allowed my friends to come see me every once in awhile.
They came every Thursday and Friday, my parents checked on me everyday but only sat down with my on Wednesday, and Camila, well, she came and saw me everyday. She would sit down on the bed and tell me about her day, read from To Kill a Mockingbird, and then just speak about the most random things. It was the best part of my day.
There had been a girl who had came a day ago. I couldn't remember her name. I think it had started with a d. I didn't know who she was but she seemed nice. She had kept saying sorry for some reason, and from what I could hear, she had been crying while she spoke. Her voice sounded incredibly familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on where I had seen her before. She told me about her baby for some reason. She said the baby missed me but I didn't know who she was talking about.
She hadn't been there that long and when she did leave, she said,"Goodbye Lauren. Goodbye for good," and then there was a silence. I had heard the voice of another girl telling the other one it was time to go.
I guessed the girl may had been my friend or something and she didn't want to be friends anymore? I didn't know who else she could possibly be.
Today I waited in the silence like usual till I heard the door open, and the soft pads that I had came to know as Camila's echoed in the room.
"Hi Lo, I came to play for you," she spoke and if I could smile, I would. "It's this song by this band called The 1975. I don't know if you know them but they're one of my favorites and I learned a song. I thought you'd like to hear it."
I heard the old creak of the piano lid being pushed up and a few notes being hit on accident as she sat down.
Waiting patiently, I inwardly gasped at the sound of the song.
She had a face straight outta magazine
God only knows but you'll never leave her
Her balaclava is starting to chafe
And when she gets his gun he's begging, "Babe, stay, stay, stay, stay, stay."Camila stopped playing almost immediately and I heard her run across the room to be, her body dropping onto the bed. "Lauren?!" She asked, trying to figure out if my sudden take in of air was really me or if it was just her imagination. However, my body immediately shut down at I tried to do it again.
She sighed and I felt her get up. She muttered a sad goodbye and that was how the day went along without Camila. I just sat there, trying to force myself to breath.

The next morning, my eyes were open and I could move a little. My parents hadn't came to check on me so I had been practicing speaking.
I knew Camila would come see me, and then she could help me.I had tried to move and sit up but I couldn't, and even the simplest of words were a tremendous struggle. However, I just knew I had to speak to her. I had to show her that I was here and even though I couldn't move that I could communicate.
I watched as she walked in, her hands feeling around the room to find her way to me. A light smile pushed my lips up as she found her way to my bed.
I gathered my courage, pressing the simple greeting from my lips. "Hi." My voice was raspy and rough but I could tell Camila recognized it.
