So I know the author's note is usually at the end of the chapter but I wanted to say, OMG GUYS WE GOT 100 READS!!!! Third-person

Lizzie had been driving for what felt like hours when they finally pulled up to the house. Ross had woken up a while ago and everyone was excited to be back home.

"Guys, I think we need to work on our powers. Shelby and Scott were barely able to get rid of all those people and we weren't able to do anything. Shelby and Scott need to work on control and the rest of us need to work on making our powers stronger and easier to summon." Joel said, looking at everyone.

"Okay, Scott and I will go and work on trying to get our powers under control. We will regroup later." Shelby said as she started to lead Scott away. The rest of them walked over to a different spot and started to try to summon their powers one by one. Ross was able to make a small tornado in his hand and Max had a mini bolt of lightning resting on his palm. Lizzie held a small orb of water in the air and Joel was making a small plant grow out of the ground. Everyone celebrated this small victory and got to work on strengthening their powers.

Scott's pov

Shelby and I had broken off from the group to try to control our powers. Our main goal was to make it so that our skin was at the normal temperature. Shelby sat on the ground with her eyes squeezed shut in concentration. Man, she's so cute. Wait, Scott no. She's just your friend, focus. Ok, so I shut my eyes and focused on warming my skin. I opened my eyes and saw that Shelby was staring at me. She blushed and quickly looked away. I wonder what that was about.

"So did it work?" Shelby wondered aloud.

"Let's find out, shall we?" I said standing up and offering her my hand. She giggled and took it, standing up next to me. We looked at the burned and frozen ground beneath us and we both took a step onto fresh grass. The grass didn't freeze! It stayed alive and healthy. I looked over and I saw that the ground that Shelby was standing on was fine too. She started jumping up and down and squealing. I couldn't help but laugh at how silly she looked. She ran over to me and tackled me with a giant hug. We both fell to the ground laughing our heads off. After we had both calmed down we just laid on the ground and looked at the clouds. I looked over and Shelby and I couldn't help but think how pretty she was. She looked over and saw me staring. Instead of looking away I leaned forward and put my lips to hers. She immediately kissed back and it felt like fireworks were going off inside of me. We finally pulled away, both flushed and out of breath, and she gave me one of her amazing smiles. God, I love her.

Joel's pov

We had been working on strengthening our powers for about an hour now. Ross had a full-out tornado blowing, but he had made it so the wind didn't affect anyone. Max was working on throwing some huge lightning bolts and Lizzie was making a castle out of water. I was working on the plant I had started to grow earlier. It was about 20 feet high by now and I was working on some branches. I saw Shelby and Scott walking towards us, and they both looked a little flushed. It's probably from them working on controlling their powers.

" Hey guys, how did it go?" I called out, taking my attention away from the plant.

" Good. Check this out," Shelby said and then ran and jumped on Max's back.

"Hey!" Max shouted when Shelby jumped on him. Shelby just giggled in response.

" I CAN TOUCH YOU GUYS NOW!! THIS IS AMAZING!" Shelby shouted in a high-pitched voice.

" Ow, my ears," Max said, laughing along with Shelby. I'm glad they got their powers under control. I know it's been hard on Shelby not being able to touch anyone but Scott.

I walked over to Lizzie and gave her a hug from behind. " How are you doing my dear?" I whispered into her ear.

"I'm okay. I'm really glad that Shelby and Scott got their powers under control. I was beginning to worry about them." Lizzie said leaning back into me.

" Yeah, and it should be easier now that we all have a hold on our powers. I'm still curious about where they came from though." I told her.

" Yeah, all that we really know is that they are linked to these marks, '' she said, lifting up her sleeve. I looked at her mark which was a droplet of water. I lifted up my sleeve to show her mine, a small vine. I know Max had a bolt of lightning on his left palm and Ross had a small tornado on his right palm. Shelby had a fire on her right ankle and Scott had an iceberg on his left ankle. She was right, all we knew is that our powers came from these marks. I wish we knew more but there was nothing we could do. I heard shouting and looked over to where the others were standing. They were all on the ground unconscious. I ran over to them but I only made it a few steps before I felt my eyes begin to close. I shouted out to warn Lizzie but I couldn't get the words out. The last thing I saw before my head hit the ground was Lizzie collapsing a few feet away from me.
