Shelby's pov

I felt as if I was underwater. I could hear everyone yelling at David, but it was muffled.

"Shelby, Shelby, come towards my voice." Someone was calling out to me. I felt myself floating toward whoever it was. I went toward the light and I had to close my eyes from the brightness. When I opened my eyes I was in a room. Two people were sitting at a table, and one of them was Kailey!

"Kailey!" I ran over and practically tackled her.

"Shelby? Why are you here?" Kailey looked so confused and concerned.

"Don't worry, she's fine. David just injected her with something, with what I'm not sure. I brought her here because I need to talk to you two," the other girl at the table stood. She had long, blond hair and was wearing all white. "You are in great danger. David used to be a good man, but he's changed. He's unstable, obsessed with getting more power. Now that he has captured you, he won't let you guys out of his sight, but you must stay hopeful. If you lose hope, he will be able to extract your powers, and I don't even want to think about what he would do with them."

"How do you even know about our powers? Who are you?" I gave the girl one of my death stares, and those are really rare.

"I'm the one who gave you your powers," The girl met my stare. I watched the confusion on Kailey's face turn to rage.

"You're the reason David tortured me! How dare you do that. I understand you having to get the powers from him, but I almost died!" Kailey was furious. She grabbed the girl by her shoulders and began to shake her. Kailey looked as if she was about to cry. The girl simply wrapped her arms around her.

"I know, and I'm so sorry. I was going to take you with me but I didn't have enough time, please forgive me," the girl held Kailey as she started to silently cry. Kailey nodded her head and the girl smiled. "Oh, look at the time. David will be back soon to wake up. I'll stay with Shelby until she wakes up. Don't worry though, you will see me again soon." Kailey nodded and the girl placed her hands on Kailey's head. Kailey disappeared from view.
