Derek's pov

It had been a few days since we've escaped from David's, a few days since we left Kailey behind. We're holed up in the cabin Kailey and I had found a couple of years ago. David doesn't even know it exists. The first day we got here all we did was mope around, thinking of what we had done, abandoning Kailey. Then Lizzie came in, yelling for us to get ourselves together, that we were going to get off our butts and figure out a plan to get Kailey back. Our plan was slowly coming together when we received a letter. It appeared from thin air and dropped right in front of me. That's when it all went downhill.

Shelby's pov

"Hey, I was looking at the plan and I noticed some things we could fix. I was," I looked up to see Derek reading a letter with tears streaming down his face. "Derek? What's wrong?" He turned to me and held out the letter he was reading.

Dear Derek,

Well, it looks like you're missing a certain someone, aren't you? Don't worry, I've been taking excellent care of her, she's even gone back to referring to me as sir! Her progress is amazing, and her screams! Why their music to my ears. I must have you listen to them sometimes. Oh and don't worry, she's not allowed to escape to that zone of conscious unconscious you two used to love to visit. A quick jolt brings her back to reality. She's gotten quieter though, I do miss her little quips. After a few days of my special care she's become the ever-loyal servant. I'm sure we'll see each other again soon, I'll be waiting.

All my love,

David

"Oh my god, this, this is awful," I looked up at Derek, the tears in my eyes threatening to spill-free. He nodded his head, not bothering to hold his tears back.

"He's gonna pay. We need to move the plan to now, I'm not leaving her in the hands of that maniac."

"Derek, this is exactly what he wants! That's why he sent you this letter. You don't even know if it's true. He could be lying or, or."

"He's not. Trust me, I know David. He doesn't lie or bluff about this kind of stuff. We need to get her back now, or else, I don't even want to think about what might happen to her, what he will do to her."

"Okay, okay if your sure we need to move the plan, I'll see what I can do." I let out a sigh and headed out to where the others were, Derek following at my heels. "Guys, we have a problem," I handed the letter to Lizzie. She looked confused for a moment but quickly realized what the letter was saying. She read it out loud, and the farther she got the farther everyone's faces fell.

"We have to get her back! Like now, what's everyone waiting for? We need to get going, come on!" Max jumped up, ready to dive first into the danger that we were sure to be facing.

"Wait a minute, I know this is bad but we can't just go diving into danger like this! We need a plan, something, anything! Just going in guns blazing is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard!" Ross jumped up, trying to calm everyone down.

"We have a plan, we follow it and we get Kailey back! It's not that hard to understand!" Max screamed back. Soon chaos erupted in the small room, everyone screaming to be heard.

"ENOUGH!" I screamed in the loudest, most high-pitched voice I had. Everyone immediately stopped talking and looked at me. "Max is right. We have somewhat of a plan. It might not be the best plan, but it's a plan. As long as we follow it exactly, we have a chance. Imagine if it was Max there Ross, or Lizzie Joel, or even me. You can't tell me you wouldn't be doing everything in your power to get them back. Kailey should be no different. She's helped us countless times, and let herself be taken so we could get away. We can't let her suffer by the hands of that, that Maniac! Now we are going to go get her back, no matter what. So quit trying to stop us and gear up!" Everyone looked at me and nodded. We all rushed off to pack for the journey ahead of us, ready to fight for our friend, ready to do anything to get her back.

David's pov

"Hello sir," Kailey greeted me as I walked into the lab she had been restrained to for the past few days.

"Hello my dear Kailey, are you ready for your session?" Her eyes widened in fear as she backed away from me.

"B-but you s-said I w-was done, t-that if I-I was good you wouldn't h-hurt me again," tears streamed down her face as she frantically backed away from me as I got closer.

"Yes I did say that, but I need to make sure that you will be loyal when the time comes. I can't have you turning on me, now can I?" I closed the distance between us and grabbed her by her hair. She let out a scream as I dragged her to the table. She was begging me, but that would get her nowhere. I slammed her down, and as soon as I had one of her arms strapped down she stopped struggling. "Now that's a good girl, now why don't you give me a smile." She gave me a shaky smile as I gathered my supplies. Her smile quickly dropped one she saw what I had grabbed.

"Please, I-I promise I w-won't betray you, ever," She had gone back to begging, how pathetic.

"Oh, I know you won't." I took the knife from the table next to me and I dragged it lightly over her skin, leaving dots of blood in its wake. She winced, her eyes screwing shut as she prepared herself for what was about to happen.

"AHHHHH!" She screamed as I dug the knife into her arm. She flickered invisible for just a second before returning to her visible state. I just laughed as I repeatedly made cuts across her body, watching her as she continued to flicker. Once I felt she had enough of this I moved on to my serums.

"Now, my dear, this serum should give you a new ability, or it might render you immobile for the rest of your life. Let's find out, shall we?" I jammed the needle into her arm and watched the bright purple serum make its way into her system. She was thrashing on the table, the bonds straining against her. "In case you wanted to know, this serum should increase your agility, and maybe give you a little speed boost. It should help you defeat your friends once they come to rescue you."

"No."

"No, what do you mean no?"

"I will NOT turn on my friends. I will NOT let you hurt them. No matter what you do to me I will never turn on them. As long as I'm in control of my body I will fight you, and I will not let you hurt the people I care about." Kailey fought against her bonds with a newfound strength, oh how fun it will be to drive it back out of her.

"Well then, it looks like you're not going to be in control of your body anymore. Before I take control of it though, I'm gonna make you feel some pain, as a punishment for disobeying me," I walked over to the sink and grabbed a bucket of water. I went over to Kailey and threw it on her, making sure that she was drenched thoroughly. I grabbed a taser and fired it right at her. She jumped, the water increasing the intensity of the eclectic force running through her. I stopped after a moment to let her catch her breath before I fired again. I continued this for hours, never letting up for more than a minute.

"Well, I think that's enough. Now, let's get that body of yours under my control," I went over to my station and grabbed my most special formula. "This, my dear, sweet Kailey, will put you under my absolute control. You will obey my every whim, without a second thought. You'll have no say in anything," I gave her one of my award-winning smiles before I plunged the needle into her neck.
