A New Friend

David's pov

"Well, looks like your friends are almost here, let's go greet them. Shall we?" I looked at Kailey as I held out my hand. She grabbed it and stood, ready to go. "Before we go meet them, we need to go pick someone up, lets go." We walked down the hall to my cells for the magical beings. We stopped in front of a cell that held a very powerful girl. She had Lilac hair, which was put up in pigtails, and was wearing a short purple dress, an oversized hoodie, thigh-high socks with heels, and had speakers in her hair and on her dress(Picture above). She was quite tall too, reaching a great height of 5'9. She sat in the corner of her cell with a metal gag over her mouth, stopping her from making a single sound.

"Who is that? And why is there a gag over her mouth?" Kailey examined the girl carefully, her head slightly cocked.

"This is Yukari. She has the power of sound and can use it to influence people. She used it to try to escape, so she lost the privilege to be able to speak.

"I see, so is she going to help us capture my old friends?"

"Why yes, she is," I turned from Kailey and looked at Yukari, "and if I even think you are trying to compel me, that gag will be back on before you know it, and you shall receive severe punishment. Do you understand?" Yukari nodded quickly and I pressed a button which caused her gag to contract into a choker on her neck.

"I promise sir, I will not try to use my powers against you. I will do whatever you ask of me sir," Yukari stood and walked to the door of her cage. I opened the door and motioned to her to stand next to Kailey. An alarm started to go off, letting me know that intruders had reached the edge of the land.

"Well girls, let's go greet our visitors, shall we?" I motioned to the girls to follow me as I headed to the front door. Those kids are in for a huge surprise.

Max's pov

"Ok guys, we're almost there. Everybody ready?" We had reached the edge of the forest, and we were about to go to the castle on our rescue mission. Everyone nodded and we walk out from our coverage behind the trees

"Kailey?" Ross pointed to a figure standing in front of the gate of David's castle. It was Kailey! But she was just standing there, and I could tell she could see us, I mean she was looking straight at us, so why wasn't she running over to us.

"Kailey, come on!" Lizzie motioned for Kailey to come over to us. Kailey just smirked and crossed her arms. I could see two people join her on the hill, David and a girl I haven't seen before. The girl held up a microphone and started to sing.

Listen to my voice

Heed my every word

Come walk up to us

Surrender to us now

As the girl continued to sing, I felt myself walking towards them. I couldn't stop myself, and all I wanted to do was do what the girls were saying. Her voice was the best thing I had ever heard. When I was about halfway up the hill, I stopped. The girl was still singing, but I had somehow been freed from her spell.

"Max!" I turned to Derek, "I managed to use my power to stop her from controlling you, but I can't seem to get the others to snap out of it. We need to stop that purple-haired girl and grab Kailey," I nodded and ran towards the girl, who looked confused as to why I wasn't under her spell. She quickly shook it off and directed a different song at Ross and Shelby

Turn against your friend

Bring him straight to me

Listen to my song

Heed my every word

Ross and Shelby turned toward me and charged, summoning their powers as they got closer.

"Guys, come on. I don't want to fight you. Please, snap out of it!" They didn't even slow down. Shelby threw a fireball that I barely managed to dodge. Ross quickly threw a blast of wind that was impossible for me to dodge. The blast threw me to the floor and knocked the wind out of me. Shelby grabbed me and hauled me to my feet. I had a really stupid plan that would probably fail, but what did I have to lose. I let Shelby and Ross drag me up the hill towards the girl while pretending to struggle. Once we had reached the girl I pulled myself out of their grasp and charged at the girl. I tackled her to the ground, which knocked the wind out of her, stopping her singing. The others stopped where they were standing. They looked as if they were in a daze, almost as if they were statues.

"No! You idiot what did you do?" David looked furious as he stared me down. "Kailey, take him down."

"Yes sir," Kailey turned invisible. I quickly turned, looking all around me. I felt my feet being knocked out from under me. I fell to the ground and felt someone tie my hands behind me. "There you go, sir."

Escape and help your friend

The girl who had put us under spell earlier said something I couldn't quite hear before laying her head back down.

"NO! What are you doing!" David screamed at the girl as he took a remote out of his pocket. He pressed a button on it and the choker that had been on her neck became a gag, stopping her from making any other sound. Shelby, Ross, Lizzie Joel, and Scott all snapped out of their trances and looked around.

"Let me go!" I turned and saw Derek grabbing Kailey. He pushed her over to Scott, who made sure she couldn't run away. Derek punched David and grabbed the remote that David had dropped. He pushed the button that controlled the girl's gag, making it so she could speak again. The girl quickly stood up, looking confused.

"Stop David from moving and you can come with us," Derek shouted at the girl who quickly nodded and began a song.

Lay right there and stop

Don't you even move

Listen to me now

Freeze right in that spot

David stopped, looking furious.

"You think you'll get away with this?! You'll pay Yukari, I can promise you that. Release me now and your punishment won't be as severe," David shouted at the girl, Yukari. She just shook her head as she untied Max.

"Let's go. We'll have to hurry though. Once I get a certain distance from him my spell will wear off.

"No! Let me go! David, I'll stop them. Let me go, or else," Kailey was screaming and thrashing about, and Scott looked like he was having trouble keeping her in her grasp.

"May I please make it easier for us to take her with us?" Yukari looked at us with a sad look in her eyes.

"Yeah, we need to get going and I can't think of any other way to get her to come with us," Derek looked toward Kailey, and I could tell he was wishing he could do something. Yukari nodded and started her song.

Relax and listen to me

Stop your struggling

Stop yelling and relax

Kailey slowly stopped struggling and stopped yelling. Scott hesitantly let her go. She stood still for a second before she ran over to David.

"David! Don't worry I'll help you!" Derek pulled her away from him as she was screaming at him to let her go.

"I-I don't know why it didn't work! That's never happened before," Yukari looked worried as Kailey continued to struggle.

"Don't worry, I feel like David did something to cause this. I'll carry her there, let's just get going," Derek let out a sigh as he began the long walk back to the cabin, Kailey not letting up the struggling.

"Kailey, Please come back to us."
