"Come on!" The people on my right beckoned to me to follow them.

"Please! Don't leave us," the people on my left begged, stretching their arms out to me. I closed my eyes and did the only thing I could, and I made my choice.

5 hours before the choice

Max's pov

"Okay, so we're going to pretend to still be in our restraints when David comes back. Scott will distract him by creating a layer of ice, and when David goes over to stop him Kailey will go invisible and grab some of that fear serum stuff. We will all keep David distracted so Kailey can inject him. Once that's all done we'll make a beak for it. Everyone understand?" Lizzie looked at all of us as she finished explaining her plan. We all nodded as we got into our positions. We didn't have to wait long before we heard David approach the door. He swung it open and walked in with his stupid smirk.

"Look at you all, just waiting for me to break you. Today you're all in for a special treat," David walked through the room eyeing us all. Time to start our plan. I heard the crinkling of ice spreading. The room dropped a good 10 degrees and it was still going strong. I could see the frost creeping over the floors and making its way to where David was standing. David whipped his head around and his eyes went straight to Scott. You could see the fury in his eyes as he stalked towards him. Kailey took this as her cue and disappeared from sight. Now it was up to her.

"Looks like someone doesn't like the cold," Scott was smirking, hiding his fear.

"Looks like someone's a little scared. I will admit, you're good at hiding it, but I've been doing this for a while, you can't hide your fear from me," David had a cocky look as he got closer to Scott. Scott quickly dropped his act and his fear became evident on his face.

"L-look I'm sorry, I-I won't do it a-again," Scott was apologizing but David didn't even slow.

"Oh, I know you won't," David reached Scott and David placed a glove on his right hand. Without the blink of an eye, David punched Scott in the face.

"No! Don't touch him!" Shelby was screaming. She looked like she was about to get up, but thought better of it. David ignored her and continued to hit Scott. Suddenly, David froze and I could see the needle sticking out of his neck. His eyes rolled back in his head and he collapsed onto the ground. Shelby bolted over to Scott, asking him if he was okay.

"I'm fine, don't worry. What we need to focus on is getting out of here, not on a black eye," Scott reassured Shelby as he stood. "Let's get outta this hell."

4 hours until the choice

Lizzie's pov

"Now comes the hard part. How are we gonna get out of here without someone stopping us? There's no way we're going to just be able to walk out of here. And we can't escape like last time, they know about Kailey's ability," I started to pace around the room, trying to figure out a way to get us out of here.

"What if Derek used his power to suppress whatever's out there that would give us away while we were invisible?" Joel joined me in pacing around the room.

"I wish I could, but unless I know exactly what I would need to suppress, I might accidentally suppress Kailey's power instead, or anything for that matter. It's too risky," Derek quickly put that plan to rest. We all sat in silence for a few minutes.

"Maybe we could just try to sneak out the old-fashioned way? No powers, just us being sneaky," Ross threw out the idea, and it was a great one.

"Yes! Let's do it. We're going to have to be very careful and quiet. If all goes well we should be out of here before we know it," I began telling everyone how we would do this, now we just have to hope nothing goes wrong.
