Truth or Dare

Kailey's pov

Well, I'm finally free from that hell hole. I don't really know the others, but I couldn't let them go through the pain I had.

"Boo!" I jumped three feet in the air and threw a punch at whoever was behind me. They fell to the floor and I grabbed a knife off the counter and held it to their neck. They figure under me look up with fear.

"OMG! Max, I'm so so so sooooo sorry. You startled me," I immediately apologized and got off of the redhead.

"It's no problem. I scared you, It's my fault"

"No no no, I should have realized that I have other people here."

"Kailey, listen. It's my fault, don't beat yourself up over it."

"Okay okay. I'm obviously not going to win this. So what did you need."

"Well, we were going to play a game and wanted to know if you wanted to play. It could help us get to know each other better."

"Ok sure, lead the way." Max led me to the living room where everyone was sitting in a circle. I sat down with Shelby on my right and Max on my left. "So what are we playing?" I asked.

"Truth or dare," Max answered.

"Nope, I'm out. I've had way too many bad experiences with truth or dare," I said as I started to stand up.

"Nope," Max said and pulled me back down," you already agreed to play. And besides, you owe me."

"You said it was your fault!"

"Well, now I'm using it as leverage."

"Fine, but after this you will never bring that up again."

"Deal."

"Well I don't know what that was but I guess I'll go first," Joel said and looked for the first victim. "Shelby, truth or dare?"

"Um, Truth."

"Ok, when we were training the other day, why did you and Scott come back all flushed." Shelby blushed a bright red and looked down.

"Um, it's because Scott and I had um k-kissed."

Everyone went ohh and Ross shouldered Scott who was also blushing.

"Ok ok moving on. Kailey, truth or dare?" Shelby asked me.

"As much fun as truth sounds I think I'm gonna go with dare," I said. I wasn't going to risk them finding out something I didn't want them finding out anything embarrassing or bad about my past.

"Hmmm, I dare you to let me and Lizzie pick you out an outfit and do your hair."

"Yay! Makeover time!!" Lizzie squealed and pulled me up to her room with Shelby right behind her. They sat me down on the bed and ran to Lizzie's closet. I could hear them whispering to each other but I couldn't see what they were doing.

"That is perfect!!!" Shelby shouted and ran over to me. (Outfit above) She handed me a black shirt that said normal is boring and some white shorts to go with it. For my hair, they just left it down and pulled a black beanie over it. They also gave me these super cool earrings. We walked back downstairs and all the boys started hooting and hollering. I started blushing a bright red and just sat back down in my spot.

"You look great," Max said.

"Thanks. Anyway, it's my turn now. How about... Scott. Truth or dare." I asked Scott.

"Dare me bro, I'm not scared," Scott replied while looking very cocky.

"I dare you to have Shelby sit in your lap for the rest of the game," I replied with a smirk.

Scott was blushing a bright red as Shelby moved over to his lap. "O-okay guys let's move on, umm Max, Truth or dare."

"Well, I would prefer to not make a fool of myself so I'll go with truth."

"Booo, you no fun," I told him. He just rolled his eyes and looked back at Scott.

"Okay, who was your first kiss." asked while raising his eyebrows.

"Umm, Ross," Max mumbled while blushing.

"Ohhh," I said and elbowed him in the side.

"Shut up," he said while glaring at me," Ross truth or dare."

"I'm gonna go with dare, do your worst," Ross replied with a bold look on his face.

"I dare you to fight Kailey, but Kailey can't use her powers. Ross can, but Kailey can't," Max replied and gave me a look. I immediately understood what he was doing and I went along with it.

"What, that's not fair! He's obviously going to beat me right away!"

"Payback," was all he said while grinning. Ross and I stood up and got into pit fighting positions.

"This is going to be easy," Ross said as Max began the fight. I immediately kicked his legs out from under him, causing him to fall. I could tell I caught him off guard. He quickly got over his shock and threw a giant gust of wind at me. I managed to do some flips and was able to stay on my feet. I quickly flipped over Ross and pulled him down with me on top.

"I think I won," I said, smirking at Ross. I looked up and saw everyone but Max staring in disbelief.

"How did you do that?" Shelby exclaimed.

"Um, si, I mean David, wanted me to know how to defend him if the need arose. Plus my father was teaching me to hunt and defend myself before he passed," I explained as I got off of Ross.

"Well that's good to know, and maybe you could teach us a thing or two," Joel stated.

"I guess it's my turn," Ross started," Lizzie, truth or dare?"

"Truth please."

"Do you think we can trust Kailey?"

"Ross!" Max shouted, clearly shocked.

"What? She's basically a stranger who could probably take all of us down all on her own. The weird voice thing that gave us our powers said Lizzie should trust her instincts. It's a perfectly valid question. Lizzie, do you think we can trust Kailey?"

"I think we can, I mean she helped us escape and I feel like she wouldn't do anything to us," Lizzie said, giving me a smile.

"Ok, well I think that's enough of this game. Besides it's getting late, we should get to bed," Scott said. We all agreed and went to our separate rooms. I tried to sleep but I couldn't. I had to get Ross to realize that he can trust me. David will use anything he can the next time we meet. I'll have to think of something tomorrow. After what felt like forever I finally fell into a restless sleep.

David's pov

"They got away! How incompetent are you? Where's Kailey, she'll be able to figure this out." I was pacing up and down the hall. I had them, they were here, and now because of my dumb guards, they escaped.

"S-she helped t-them escape s-s-sir."

"WHAT! That little brat. I want everyone on the look for them. No one rests until they're found." That dumb girl, thinking she could escape. When I find her there will be severe consequences.
