Max's pov

After the whole fiasco with Ross being under a serum, things have calmed down. Lizzie wants us to have a meeting to discuss some things though. I looked at the clock and saw that it was almost time. I ran down the stairs and slid into the living room.

"Now that we have everyone, let's begin. I think it would be a good idea to discuss our powers, like where they came from and stuff like that." Lizzie explained as she paced around the room. "We halfway know how we got our powers, but I was wondering where Kailey and Derek's came from." We l turned to look at Kailey and Derek. Kailey was anxious to say something when Derek stepped in.

"I have an idea about where ours came from. David had been testing dozens of serums on us for years, but they were far in between. After we attempted to escape he tried so many at once. The ones he used on Kailey must have altered her genetics, making it so she could become invisible. Mine made it so I could suppress things, like the truth serum Ross was under. David didn't know about that though, and he thought that nothing had changed with us. He used the machine and altered our memories. He sent me away and kept Kailey. And here we are now," Derek took a deep breath after he had finished. We all looked at them in disbelief. I couldn't believe what kind of stuff they went through. We weren't hurt getting our powers, they came in an accident when we were given these marks.

"Wow, that sounds awful," Joel stood dumbfounded as he processed what Derek said.

"And I m-might know how you guys got your

p-powers," Kailey looked really nervous and was fidgeting with her hands. "David had been working on a plan to create a way to control the elements. He spent a very long time trying different things with science. Eventually, he decided that science wasn't the way to go, he was going to use something else. He had heard of a plant that could be used to create magic-like effects. I had grown up in the woods so he sent me to find it. I brought it to him and he had me help him create these marks with the ink made from the flower, the marks you know have. He was about to apply them to himself when something went wrong. A bright light appeared and a woman emerged from it. She looked to be pure light. She swept the symbols into the light and quickly followed them in. David was furious, and he took it out on me. He blamed me for them being taken and brought me to his lab. I was strapped to a table and he put countless serums into me at once. Luckily he left right after because I started to flicker between being visible and invisible. I couldn't control it. I managed to get it under control before he came back though, so he still doesn't know about my power," Kailey was on the verge of tears from telling her story. Derek wrapped his arm around her and she buried her head into his chest.

"I can't believe he did that to you, and that he was the one who created these powers," Shelby stood and started to pace. "That would explain why he is coming after us." She continued to pace while she muttered incoherently under her breath. I stared at Kailey. I can't believe what that jerk did to her. I stood and walked out of the room into the kitchen. I could still hear Kailey's sobs. If I ever saw David again, I would kill him.

Davids pov

I've finally figured out where they went. I can't believe I didn't think of it earlier! Of course, the first place Kailey would take them is her old home. Soon, they will be back here, and I will be back on track to getting my powers back.

Third pov

Everyone was sitting in silence, staring at one another. Kailey was asleep, tired out from telling her story and crying. BOOM! Kailey's head shot up and you could see the fear in her eyes. Before anyone could ask what's wrong David walked into the room.

"Well, look at this. You're all here together. This will certainly make things easier," Max looked furious and changed at David, summoning a lightning bolt in his hand. Before he could strike David, a gas canister was thrown into the room and David put on a mask. The gas reached Max first, who froze, his eyes rolling back in his head. Kailey looked terrified and turned invisible so she could try to escape. She didn't get far though. A few moments later everyone heard a thump and Kailey reappeared on the floor, unconscious. Everyone else soon fell victim to the ruthless gas, except for Derek and David. David looked between him and Kailey, the shock clear on his face. Derek lunges at David, tackling him to the ground. They fought on the ground, and Derek was clearly winning. David slithered out of his grasp and bolted to where Kailey was laying. He grabbed her and held her in front of him.

"Ah ah ah, you wouldn't want to hurt your dear old friend, would you? You're going to let my men confine you, and you will not try anything, understand?" Derek didn't say anything, he just stood there as his arms were quickly bound. He was taken to a car and thrown in the backseat. Shelby, Max, Lizzie, Joel, and Ross soon followed. David kept Kailey upfront with him, so he knew Derek wouldn't try anything.

Time skip to the testing chamber

Everyone had been strapped down onto tables, except for Kailey and Derek. They were in tubes up against the wall

"Well, I hope everyone's comfortable because you're going to be here for a loooong time," David strolled into the room, and started to walk towards Shelby. He walked next to her and ran his hand along her face. "My, what a pretty one you are. Maybe I'll keep you once this is all over."

"Don't touch her!" Scott was pulling against his bonds, the anger evident on his face.

"Leave her alone!" Kailey was banging in the walls of the tube that confined her.

"Ah, my dear Kailey. Look at you. It was quite a surprise to find that you had powers. I can't believe you didn't tell me, after all I did for you. I'm hurt," David smirked at Kailey. "Well, I'll need to run some experiments to see what affects your ability. I'm sure it will come in handy later on," he moved to a control panel and hit a few buttons. Kailey's tube started to fill with a liquid and she started to freak out. She thrashed about her small tube, banging on the sides. Everyone was yelling for David to stop, but all he did was laugh. As the liquid-filled the tube, Kailey started to move less and less. Eventually she wasn't moving at all, it didn't even look like she was breathing. "While that takes effect I'll get one of you started on a few serums. How about you," He grabbed a needle and walked over to Shelby.

"No, don't touch her! Leave her alone, please. You can't do this! I swear I'll kill you!" Scott was screaming at David. He struggled against his bonds, trying to help Shelby. All David did was laugh and plunge the needle into Shelby's arm. Everyone watched as the liquid went into Shelby's system, the color draining from her face. She started to jerk violently, her eyes rolling back in her head. Scott was screaming, the fury clear in his face. Ice started to creep on the table and down onto the floor. David looked at it and walked over to Scott. He injected Scott with a serum and Scott passed out almost instantly.

"Well, I'll take my leave now, but don't worry, I'll be back before you know it," David winked at them as he walked out of the room. All you could hear was the occasional jerking from Shelby and the intake of breath.

Ahh, I'm really sorry that this chapter was super late. I'll try to get better about it but I have a valid excuse. I wasn't home until 8 every day this past week.
