The scene finally changed after the girl slipped into a deep sleep. The blue water started to twist and bend, the once full lively color turning into a inky blackness.
I had no other words to say as I let my spiritual body float around widly in the empty darkness.
"Do you think this will really work?" I heard a slight distant voice say. The voice sounded as if it was submerged underwater and became fuzzy. I looked around for any type of source but I came up empty handed.
"I don't know, Dr. Reinfeild," the sudden serious tone of a very familiar womenly voice echoed. "If you do your job right, then most likely."
A huff of annoyance was heard before a small sound of clicking echoed around the emptiness around me. "I'll have the staff transfer RX35 into the Containment Room in the Western Section." The voice of Dr. Reinfeild muttered bitterly. No other response came from the women.
"What a pain in the ass." I heard Dr. Reinfeild mutter under his breath. I could only imagine him running a hand through his greasy hair. Shuffling sounds echoed around but I could no longer hear anyone talk. Just gruffs and huffs of nearby people doing whatever.
You were awake at this point, but it seems they stuffed you with sleeping drugs. This would explain why you can hear everything going around you.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. I can hear everything going around me; the sound of rolling wheels, the jolt of every bump we pass over, the heavy breathing of the people around me, the distant shouts of haste.
I felt the small huffs of breaths against my neck, distant, but there. I went to swat it away but before I could, there sat a little girl in front of me. She was the exact replica of me as a child, but just a bit smaller. She sat straight up on her knees like me while her big (e/c) eyes stared wide at me.
She waved her small hand at me, seeing what I would do. A tempting grin almost made its way to my lips before I quickly suppressed it and waved my hand as slow as she did. At first, she wasn't sure, straining to really look at me with her eyes but eventually slumped her shoulders.
"Probably another illusion," the girl muttered under her breath. "Don't pay attention to it (Y/N). It isn't real." She muttered to herself as she let out a low sigh and closed her eyes.
I grinned for a quick second before she re-opened her eyes to stare at me. "Who are you?" Her voice echoed around the emptiness. The sounds from the outside world had seemed to fully disappeared and now it was just the two of us.
"I am you. And you are I." I answered blankly. I decided it would be best to hide the future from her. If I told her too much, then she'll know too much about her - our future. But on second thought, the Karma-like grin plastered itself in my mind but I kept my expression blank as ever.
