Chance's P.O.V

"I never been in a car this nice before." Deejay speaks up.

I turn around in my seat to glare at him.

He was rubbing the seats in fascination and I hit his leg which caused his eyes to jump to mine.

I shake my head at him and he shrugged at me.

The girl laughs quietly.

"Well.. I'm glad I can be the first." She smiled at him through the review mirror which made him smile back at her.

I turn back around in my seat to face forward and be able to look out at the street.

I clear my throat and look over at the girl.

"Uh..My name's Chance, and that's my little brother...Deejay." I motion towards my brother.

She smiled lightly.

"I'm C-Camilla," she introduced herself.

The name rings in my head and I just nod.

"That's a 'C' like Chance!" Deejay just feels the need to state the obvious.

Camilla laughs as I roll my eyes.

"Yeah, it is."

************

"Aye, you can just drop us off right here." I point to the corner store that was about two blocks from my actual house.

She furrowed her eyebrows.

"Here? Are you sure? I can take you home." She offered as she pulled into the messed up parking lot.

I shake my head as I tap on Deejay's leg and signal him to take off his seatbelt and get out.

"Nah, we're good, I gotta grab a couple things anyway." I tell her.

She just bit her lip and looked around.

I fight a smile as I get out the car and shut the door, telling Deejay to go in to the corner store and wait for me.

I walk around to the drivers side and over to Camilla's open window.

I lean my arm on the window and her eyes meet mine.

"Thank you, uh, you really didn't have to do that." I scratch the back of my head awkwardly as I talk a little louder because of the rain.

She gives me a smile.

"It wasn't a problem, and besides, I didn't want y'all walking with the weather the way it was earlier."

I nod and look around at the place I've grown to known all my life.

"Can I ask you something?" I ask her, staring at all the different buildings, people, and art that covered the streets I've always walked.

"Y-yeah," I hear her soft voice answer.

"How come every time I look your way, I always somehow catch you staring at me?" I smirk and look back at her to see a blush playing on her cheeks which made me chuckle.

"Awe don't go silent on me now after you just drove me and my little brother home," I tease her.

The blush never left her face.

"L-leave me alone," she whispers.

I stop laughing and chuckle softly even though the small smile never left my face.

"I thought we were friends now, how you gon' play with me like that?" I continue to mess with her.

She hid her face with her hands and looked away from me.
